Devs got lucky with the popularity. Underneath the facade of explosive fun and patriotic roleplaying is a game riddled with bugs and features that question the design and how much they really value the player's time. The balancing decisions make no sense and only makes the devs seem like they want the players to fail and not enjoy the standard co-op horde shooter that it is.
Funniest part is when the community supports their "battle pass" design when it's the same price as the industry standard with MUCH LESS content and no 100% return of your Super Credits from completing it, only a small percentage. People will believe as long as you can grind for the Premium Warbonds it automatically makes it good but when you analyse how long it takes to find Super Credits in general, you'll realise the waste of time it is.

For now, it's a game that all casuals would love and behold but for anyone that actually invests their time and interest in replaying this gameplay loop, they would easily see that this game is not finished and all over the place with their design philosophy.
