Terraria's space-bound cousin. This one holds a special place for me as I played this a lot when I was teen. It would have gone farther if it weren't some poor decision making by the developers during the release of its final official update. I'm not too informed on the situation, but it burnt any chance of this game ever being updated again.

If you want additional content, the modding community in this game is still fairly active. With Frackin' Universe basically being a spiritual successor and an overhaul of the base game. I do recommend giving the base game a play through before giving FU a try, however.

This is the Dark Souls IV I have always wanted in all but the actual name. While I am only 25 hours in as of writing this, I still feel like I'm not even close to being a quarter done. Brutal in its difficulty but extremely satisfying in its mechanics. This is a culmination of everything From Software has done to improve their combat systems, from The Original games to Sekiro, Bloodborne, and beyond.

However.

The PC port of Elden Ring does have some technical issues. Definitely spend the time limit you have for a refund fiddling with settings with fixes online before you commit. I was able to find a fix and have had very little to no issues since. FromSoft seems to be aware of the issues the PC port is facing on social media and have announced plans to bring out another patch to hopefully continue to solve the issues with the stuttering and such. If you are unsure, I would wait to buy this until those fixes release whenever they come out.

But do not let a bad PC release deter you from playing this. This is a fantastic game. Dark Souls III was been my favorite Action RPG of all time for a long time now, and Elden Ring just shoved it aside and said "Hold my Estus."

If there was a Phoenix Metaphor in game development. I think Hello Games has one on its hands. I heard nothing but bad things about this game at launch. And when I finally got around to playing it I was pleasantly surprised to see they are still at it. Making it a much better experience overall.

Coop survival in this game is really fun, I played this in a party of four with friends, and we got to explore a lot of different systems together as we did the main story. Even if the game kept taking us back to the same home system over and over. (It turned into injoke, haha)

However this game is still far from flawless. Multiplayer has a lot of bugs that made us drop it for the day. Most of them had to do with the carriers you can purchase and customize, a lot of the times, other players visiting the carrier would just phase through the floor as they tried to enter the main area from the hangar, killing them and damaging their suit upgrades. Other bugs included a now patched bug in Multiplayer that made ships double or quadruple in size, clipping into a space station and making interacting with pilots, or even getting to the vendors upstairs. Impossible.

This other part is more of a nitpick, but Ive always been one to play Mouse and Keyboard over a controller when I play PC games. Not there is anything wrong with controller Im just more comfortable with it. No Man's Sky's menu and gameplay are very, very much more optimized for a controller and it shows. I don't recommend playing it on Mouse and Keyboard at all.

I recommend this game to anyone who has played Elite Dangerous, and is looking for something to do while waiting for its new expansion, or anyone who is wanting a space exploration game with colorful landscapes, rather in-depth base building, and interested in a light but gripping space odyssey story. Im looking forward to any future updates that are planned and ill be following the development of the game from here on.
