Best management game I've ever played. Usually when I play simulator/4x games, I'll bail after 2 to 4 hours because the gameplay becomes too tedious or I see it'll be too annoying to win (Stellaris & Civ). This game's win condition can be achieved in 30 - 60 minutes and I find myself winning just before the micromanagement starts to become annoying instead of engaging. The difficulty is customizable and you can keep playing your settlement after winning if you want to keep growing it for fun.

If you're more interested in the roguelike elements, the randomly generated gameplay mechanics matter more on higher difficulties and lead to a lot of interesting decisions. The devs have done a good job tuning the events to avoid auto-losing situations even on the hardest difficulty and I believe every game is winnable, even when the odds are stacked against you.
