Best singleplayer game I've had the pleasure of experiencing.

If you're into open world RPGs, with interesting dialogue/choices, look no further.

I'm well over 150 hours in, and I'm still baffled by the insane amount of high quality content, every time I play the game.
Every side quest, and even the map markers (tiny, somewhat generic sidequests) have a fascinating spin to them.
The gameplay structure of said side content might not be revolutionary, but the writing of the lore/stories that is attached to even the smallest fetch quest is unrivaled.

Things rarely ever feel as a grind because of this.

Main story is also very entertaining, and requires no knowledge of the previous Witcher games (though there are some references you will most likely enjoy if you do have prior experience with Geralt, which I didn't).

The only downside compared to "the competition" is that you play as a pre-determined character. You don't just get to roleplay a character created from 0, like for instance, bethesda games. That being said, YOU 100% choose who "your" Geralt is. The dialogues and missions have a very satisfying and meaningful array of choices which allow you to get immersed plenty, and leave the door open for multiple playthroughs.

As for character customization, it's what you want it to be. You can play through the entire game not really caring much, or you can crank up the difficulty, and experience a surprisingly deep, multi-level customization system that has crafting, alchemy, skill trees, mutations and gear enhancements.

All in all, I'd rate this game 10/10, 5 stars, overwhelmingly positive, 420/69 and last but not least, a perfect score of 5/7.

If you're just now picking this game up, do yourself a favour and go with the GoTY edition, because chances are, you'll end up picking up the DLC anyway (which is btw also very good!)

Edit: Well over 200h playtime, more than 320 quests completed, not counting the "map markers", both DLC finished, and I can't help but feel tempted to start another playthrough. I can't remember last time a singleplayer game sucked me in this hard. I don't just recommend this game, I urge you to throw money at it. Do yourself a favour, and don't miss out on this absolute gem!
