Wonderfully handled modern game with a battle pass / currency based progression system with great game-play in most regards. At the end of the day I feel like it's a shallower Earth Defense Force. With a much more appealing coat of paint. EDF's progression and variety in weapons, enemies, and environment styles as well as all or nothing scenarios I find outshines this game. Earth Defense Force is the GameCube era of pure focus on bringing an enjoyable game, while Helldivers is much more aesthetic and pleasing - but lives within the world of live service.

TLDR, if youve never heard of Earth Defense Force, then check this out, and if you love it and looking for more go play EDF.

ArcsystemWorks will most certainly fumble a new entry in mainline Blazblue so I'm happy with this game. Thought it'd be a steaming pile of garbage like Code Shifter but it's actually very good. I never cared for roguelikes but with the Blazblue characters shoed in, I stuck around to try all the characters and it's been a blast.

TLDR This is a fun roguelike with Blazblue characters shoe'd in, but it's not a Blazblue game in the slightest. That said, having wild abilities on characters you've been familiar with for years is a treat

Bedman is super sick - too bad i cant play because failed to connect to room. just play xrd this game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GARBAGE

Cute game. Heavily inspired by things like Undertale but its free so if you dont like it youre a ♥♥♥♥♥ really. Gameplay is puzzle / and platforming.

This and Guilty Gear Xrd are amongst the best games of all time. This is a bit more functional though as it recently received a patch and now has top notch netcode meaning most people you play will be a smooth experience. Amongst being incredibly good in almost every way, also has solid single player content for the more casual player

This game has the most egregious optimization and performance issues I've seen with just about any game. Makes Cyberpunk 2077 look like a polished gem. If you do not own an SSD simply dont purchase it. Even if you do you may have issues. I have a relatively good computer, and can run most games on Ultra with my RTX 2070. This game will straight freeze for me on most encounters with players.

Otherwise a pretty fun game, inventory system is nice and straightforward. Combat is fun enough.

A reminder that you can play Sonic 1,2 and 3K on Sega Mega Drive Classics for much cheaper. Unfortunately this game is too pricey for the features that they add.

tbf i refunded before the 2 hr point but its features are bare bones. Probably really cool if you like DNF. Stylish but I wasnt big on the gameplay

Very very fun. I haven't enjoyed a fighting game this much since Guilty Gear Rev 2 or Skullgirls. Nice to have a high quality game come out that does not compromise too much to make it "easier" for new players. Making games "easier" has been an industry trend if you are not familiar, but what most developers fail to realize is that the avid fighting game player is going to wash a new player every time regardless of how easy they make the game to play.

That said, the game feels to have some more quality of life improvements like input leniency in its buffering, and most importantly good netcode allowing for much less laggy opponents, opening your pool of players to play against.

The only poor thing I can mention is currently on launch, there is a few bugs and crashes which the developers are already addressing. Roster is a little small at the moment of review if that is important to you.

As per usual with fighting games, the single player content is on the weak side.
