A shooter that requires macro knowledge instead of just microing your way out of every situation.

Its ok

Decent game with a good gimmick.

Encased at its core is a good game. Character building is fun, the combat is decent, the world makes you want to learn about it, the environments are pretty and the cast has some interesting characters. Sadly, none of these things are good enough to overcome the problems in execution.

Most maps were far too large for the amount of content within them and with no way to speed up your character you're going to spend an unnecessarily long time getting from place to place. This made exploring a chore and lead to me just ignoring most locations, why spend 20 minutes running around a single zone just to find zero quests, vendors or loot?

Loot is another huge problem in this game. Enemies never drop anything good and most quests give nothing but some reputation and experience so you need to rely on vendors to acquire weapons, armor and crafting materials. This wouldn't be so bad if vendors were consistent, but most of the good vendors don't have a static location and all vendors have a have a randomized loot pool (within their vendor class and your level) forcing you save scum to reset their inventory to get the supplies you need. Combine this with the fact that travel takes forever and you're going to spend a lot of time spam waiting for vendor inventories reset after purchase. I gave up and started using console commands, if I didn't I would have never completed this game out of pure frustration.

Lastly, the second act is too short and most of the faction quests are boring. It feels like you just get a basic introduction to each faction and then boom final act chose your side, this isn't helped by the fact that most of the quests are very petty such as doing some poling on citizens in a nearby town for an upcoming election.


If these problems were resolved I would rate this game quite highly but as it stands I can't recommend playing this game without console abuse

Not a bad story but is FAR too short to be worth the pricetag. The entire game runs about 2-3 hours per playthrough and there are only 4 endings, none of which invovle getting together with the warlock. The characters are mostly bland rehashes such as the beta nerd made intentionally bland so you can pretend to be him, a childhood friend that loves him despite him having zero desireable qualities and a couple other minor charcters with too few lines to really matter. The only good character is the Warlock, a violent musclehead that cares little for the norms of this world. While her character is good enough to make the VN entertaining, a lack of a romance route with this character really dampens the ending.

Also the voice acting is cringy but that could just be me.

It's silly, it's rediculious, it's what you would expect it to be but at the same time still supprise you in funny ways.
