This game is something special, the visuals are stunning, the different planes look amazing and the core gameplay loop is perfect for that "winding down after a long day of work" kind of itch.

The devs seem to be on top of fixing bugs as well which is always nice to see.

There are however a few problems.
Planes consist of different parts with different effects, only the effects themselves could use some fine-tuning, they're a little too situational and gimmicky for my tastes and a couple slightly more generic options would go a long way I feel.

Gathering specific recipes for brews is an absolute pain, bottles on the water and salvaging wrecks are a fine way to obtain them, but they're completely random in which ingredients they require. Something that could remedy this is tying recipes to the ingredients on the closest island.

And lastly my biggest gripe, the combat.
Though it saddens me that all player weapons are water-based, that's not a dealbreaker per se, though is does ruin the fantasy a little.
Because you're shooting pirates with water, there's no way to down planes or destroy boats, they just kind of give up after you beat them and retreat, which honestly is just unsatisfying. Meanwhile the pirates do get proper guns, missiles and the works.

Despite the flaws it's still a really fun and relaxing game for 20 bucks and I'm eager to see where the devs take it from here.
