So I gave the game an honest try, had many fun moments and enjoyed most of the experience. Outside of technical difficulties some stuff was outright frustrating, but the devs have been working mostly on actually bringing the stuff that the community asked for and actually delivered - like the offline mode and crafting from storage boxes...

I put the game on side to get back to it once there is new content and new biomes but the game decided to go full on FOMO with event exclusive rewards tied to a limited-time event... While FOMO practices are bad (at least in my opinion) in general, it's completely unacceptable in an early access game. It just makes you feel like the devs decided that instead of actually bringing new content to bring the players back, let's just FOMO/force them back...
And this leads me to the unfortunate part of this - albeit the game was fun and has potential... FOMO has no place here and its introductions tips the scale from "neutral" (no review) to negative.

I got introduced into the Monster Hunter series through this game and came to end up loving the series as a whole as well.

Well the game was fun, but after returning after more than a year to check on progress nothing really happened much. As it seems from the other reviews and discussions the game has been abandoned, therefore I have to thumbs down.

Due to the mandated linking of the account to PSN definitely got to thumbs down this. The game itself is fun and all, but I don't really wanna have to create an additional account just to play a game that I already played to a service that is known for leaking personal and account data quite often...
If you have a PSN account and don't mind the network leaking you data - definitely can recommend the game itself.

Unfortunately due to technical difficulties - which for the first time were solved with reinstallation and running as admin... but reocurred the next play session and couldn't get solved even after following multiple guides posted by other impacted users... Had to refund, 'cause playing for 20-30 minutes (whilst fun) is not worth having to troubleshoot around for hours and trying to find an actual solution...

The game is fun and addicting, but at the same time it is a bug-ridden mess with incomplete questlines, items lacking description or straight up just saying "WIP" or "TBD" while already being needed (like the solar panels for batteries).
If you don't mind paying fully released game price for an EA level of bugs, you should definitely get the game as it is fun. (unless your game crashes after a full day of work - and since you can only save on "sleep" and not anywhere/anytime, this gets frustrating because some places simply love to crash your game)

Abandonware

Having a blast with the game both in my solo campaign and the one with friends. There is so many secrets, nuances and paths to choose from, that playing a couple games at the same time doesn't even get old.

The game is quite fun solo, but even more fun with friends as there is nothing better than: "Wait, that is your skill? OMG! And here I was dodging it all the time"

If you like frantic fun, it's definitely a game for you and if you played and enjoyed castle crashers, what are you even waiting for?

After playing the prologue I am definitely looking forward to the game release. It's quite fun and has a unique touch to it thanks to its "create a world while playing" mechanic.
