Got this game during sales and don't regret buying it, it's a fun game.

And as some people stated. Yes, you will encounter some issues with the definitive edition.
The only issues I've run into is:
-Crashes (disabling the "Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel" service in windows 10 fixes this)
-Sentient barrels (some moments they'll just roll around or flick into the air for no reason but that won't ruin anything for you. Just letting you know you're not going crazy)
-Police sirens stuck on a loop (exiting the game completely and running it again fixes this)
-Parkouring at certain angles will send you flying back (happened a few times so no biggie)

Either way didn't stop me from finishing it.

While i'm not a huge fan of medieval times with monsters and magic i did have fun with the game and find the english voice acting comedic at times. The combat system is clunky and simple but i don't mind it too much, while making potions seemed too complex to understand at first but give it time and you'll get the basics of it. The signs are useful to turn the tables on the enemy but i forget to use them as i can manage even without it (depending on the situation of course). I do love how the characters can get glitchy at times making the scene entertaining to watch.

Story wise it's alright (i'd probably get a better understanding of the lore if i read the books but i'm not that into it and it's most likely not avaliable in my region).

Out of cons i'd say the inventory system could have been better but hey, they could've done worse. Most of the potions are worthless seeing that you'd mostly use swallow 99% of the time and some others if the situation require it (i just finished chapter 2 so don't take my word for it).

All in all i'd say give it a try you might like it.

Also i'd like to add that granny is the hardest boss you have to face.
