Brain-dead devs and mobile eroge games, where have I seen this before?

One of the best games, managed by one of the worst companies.

The game is well-polished; it feels nice to play, looks good, and actually does the "Hero Shooter" part really well. Even though the new devs have been trying to blind us with Ramattra's Annihilation and Illari's Captive Sun, the game still is visually appealing considering the amount of actions that it has.

That being said, the ultimate killer of fun in this game is, surprise surprise, the balancing.

If you play this game for a season or two and actively read the patch notes, you are going to learn two things real quick:

1. Certain heroes receive buffs and then get stripped of those buffs in around 2 updates, sometimes even with additional nerfs which make them worse than before.

2. Certain heroes are just never touched, even though they're the current meta / suffering from the worst pick rate.

It is clear to me that devs want every hero to play unique and therefore, have different abilities, but that comes with the problem of "if you want to have a chance against the other team, you have to play X". This statement itself is valid, but in the current meta it doesn't matter what you play as tank, you're not going to have a good time, because there is absolutely nothing you could do against a team that is playing around their surroundings and teammates. The problem then becomes an American-Chopper-Argument.jpg where the team is asking tank to take space, but the tank can't put the shield down so they ask the team to get a pick first but the team also couldn't because there's no space.

Contrary to the popular take of "bring 6v6 back", I actually prefer the 5v5 new standard, but they have to figure out a way to make the tank role playable, or the match experience is just going to be terrible for everyone involved.

Gameplay problem aside, there's also the problem with Blizzard's integrity as a company. Before Overwatch 2 came out, Overwatch 1 had to endure 4 years of no-new-contents only to hear about the PvE cancellation, which is the main reason as to why Overwatch 1 stopped updating. I for one do not care about PvE in the slightest, but even I would be hesitant to play a game from a company with that on its record.

At its current state, I would not recommend Overwatch 2 to people who want a competitive game, because it simply hasn't been one for a while; on the other hand, if you are mature enough to know how to take Ls and not tilt from your teammates, I think it is worth checking out because while I complain a lot about it, Overwatch 2 really is one of a kind.

Just got this game 4 hours ago...and played for 4 hours straight.

Bought this game because I saw Northernlion's "Let's Look At" series and was triggered by his gaming skills (love you NL) so I thought, if it's only $9.99, why not?

Right off the bat, I'm gonna put down a very honest fact: I cannot recommend this game to most people, unless they like the combination of Turned-Based RPG + Perma. Death mechanic.

However, if you do like this genre or are willing to try, I absolutely encourage anyone to at least give this game a try.

The "Starting Gifts" mechanic and multiple endings definitely suggest that this game is meant to be replayed, but this is probably one of those games that you put around 20+/- hours in and never want to play it again.

Nonetheless, if the developers are willing to extend some more on the current features (items, jobs, monsters, quests) from time to time, then I could definitely see the great potential in this game.

Great story, great gaming mechanics, and great soundtrack; lots and lots of details in the design apartment and various secrets waiting for the players to discover, not to mention the free DLCs that are yet to come.

All these for $14.99 only? I'd pay for this game for double the price any day of the week.

Being an adult now and losing interest in gaming rapidly, Hollow Knight truly reminds me of why I enjoy playing games so much when I was younger.
