They reverted the requirement for PSN. This was Sony's decision not the developers.

The developer also owned up to his side of the problem, too, which shows moral fiber. I respect that as well.

The game is a great game, and tons of fun with friends. DEMOCRACY WINS AGAIN! FOR DEMOCRACY!

This game has no excuse or right to be as good or addicting as it is.

It's a little dash of everything. Base building, Pokemon, survival (in terms of having to eat, and feed your Pals, but its really not difficult, can easily setup a functional, self sustaining base in no time), and exploring and dungeon delving.

While the game is Early Access, it feels and is legitimately a full game, and it has the base mechanics and structure so well done, that they could easily add another 10+ years of updates, DLCs, and expansions to this game easy.

It has a bright and addicting future.

When this game first came out, it had a lot of great ideas, and unique foundation to build on.

The map was randomly generated, and like your traditional BR game, a "circle" closed in, except in this case, the outer edges of the map literally broke away, and open space was left. Watching the ship you're on slowly break apart around you, pushing everyone to the center was really cool.

They also had "extraction shooter" style systems. Looting for loot, to craft, and put together armor, weapons, etc. Armor wasn't lost on death. Every armor piece had "masteries" applied. Every mastery point towards a certain mastery unlocked new passive perks. You couldnt unlock every mastery tree, or every perk. You had to pick and choose, and try to craft the armors you needed with the perks you wanted. This allowed for you to craft multiple sets of equipment depending on what you were trying to accomplish.

It was a great game-play loop, and kept you coming back.
----------------

Then they decided after their initial launch and drop in player base, that they wanted to take feedback, except.. They took all the wrong feedback, and instead of keeping to their original unique vision, they turned the game into a basic Battle Royale..

Then after losing another massive hcunk of playerbase they decided to do this weird psuedo mash up BR/Looter Shooter but none of it jives together, which is what we currently have right now as of writing this....
-------------
There is no loot to collect.. Just killing brain dead PvE to collect weapons/armor, and pvP if you're lucky enough to find it. It's a soulless, and extremely basic BR game now. They brought back the masteries but instead of it unlocking perks, its just a straight stat buff towards specific things. (like agility making you reload faster).

THere is no point or focus on the game, and that's quite fitting, because the game development seems to have absolutely no focus or point either.. They keep doing massive knee jerk reactions, ripping the game up from what it originally was, and making it worse with every iteration.

The game is barely struggling to hold 100 players at this point, and this is why. It's a soulless directionless game, with developers who don't know what they want to do with it anymore.

Countering all the idiots who are too stupid to understand what "Early Access" means, or read into the development of the game...

Current state of the game isn't as bad as people are claiming. Runs smooth, and has no issues from what I've encountered. It does run your GPU pretty hard though at the moment, but optimization always comes later down the road. (Just look at Warhammer 3. When it released it ran my PC at 100% on CPU/GPU at lowest settings. Now I can run it at maxed out settings and it barely peaks at 50% on CPU and GPU). KSP 1 was the same way as well.
-------------------

Secondly, yes it's just the parts and planets at the moment. Multiplayer, Colony stuff, Campaign, Science, none of that is in yet, and they explained it wouldn't be in and gave a roadmap months before release.. Soo... no idea why all the idiotic downvotes because "game not complete in Early Access" is even being allowed to get through as legit reviews..

-----------------------

THey did the KSP 1 release in the same way, and KSP 1 is a gem. There is 0 reason to think this won't be the same way.

------------------------

And finally as a last note.. It seems everyone has extremely short memory spans.. as it wasn't long ago that all the turmoil of KSP 2 development happened, where the original team that worked on it completely fluffed up the entire project.. and they had to rebuild and make an entirely new team... That ate massive amounts of time and energy, and money away from the project in the development cycle of it.

So don't be surprised after all this time, it's in this state.

Low effort game, copy pasted crap, with bugs that have no excuse for existing. So I'm gonna give a low effort review.

Wanted to try it, as it seems like it had great idea's. A mix of all the usual Escape from Tarkov, Hunt, etc.... Problem is.. It's buggy as hell, barely functional, 20 frames even on low, and plethora of other serious issues... Feels just like what others have said.. a cheap mobile game ported to PC. It's a shame.

Edit: Went to give this game a second try.. after a week of playing, and writing down positive things.. I got banned..

lol.... yea.. skip this game..

There have been quite a few reports of false bans, and Support does nothing to help you. All they'll tell you is "abnormal data" was found... (what the F does that mean?), and to create a new account and turn off any 3rd party programs while playing... ANY third party programs..

The only things I had up was steam, discord, and Firefox...

Apparently one of those triggered the automatic ban..

Game is closing down on Sept. 2023. So I'm switching this to a down vote.

Still a fun game to mess around in for the last months, since it's free, but it is officially shutting down.

Steam is forcing me to choose yay or nay. I'd stay this game heavily depends on what you're looking for. It's not a "Bad" game, and there isn't anything inherently wrong with it per say.

The problem I have with this game is simply that it feels like a Rust/Day Z/Hack n Slash/Survival game and it doesn't know what it wants to be at the end of the day.

You can play Solo, but this game isn't really designed around that. It will get boring fast, just chopping down tree's and hacking at rocks for hours on end. With friends it'll be more fun, and more content will open up to you, but quite honestly even past that.. There really isn't much going for it.

The map size is relatively big, but for 40 people per server, it's both really big, yet not big at the same time. The more north you go, the stronger enemies get. You have to build a fort though, or castle.. meaning people have 2 options.. venture north, while you're weak, or build in the forest with the other 40 people, which isn't enough space to begin with.. meaning you're going to always be tripping over other peoples castles.. and in a game like Rust or Day Z where invading other peoples forts is part of the game.. well.. that gets annoying.. fast...

Another issue is there are a lot of choke points in the map.. like ALOT... alleyways throughout, with flat hilltops for building stuff.. meaning finding bases, isn't that difficult, and everywhere else is no go. This makes the map feel both really small, yet really big at the same time. Small in the sense of nowhere to build that feels relatively safe, yet you're spending 15 minutes running to get to where you wanna go.

Over all could be fun with friends, nothing inherently wrong with the game, but solo, especially offline play the game will simply become a barren base builder, resource collecting game with no reason for being.

This has to be the first time I actually down voted a DLC by paradox, or felt such frustration that it's required..

The vassal system actually isn't that bad. It's interesting and fun to play around with, but has it's own issues. The other reviews state pretty well what these are, but ultimately I wouldn't give the dlc a downvote from it.

It's the hyper relays that are a serious issue. The game already has late game options for faster traveling. Relays which are the end games quick travel between systems. They let you link 2 or more systems together that normally are not. Super powerful system late game for getting fleets across the galaxy.

On top of that, you have the hyper jump ability as well, a VERY late game tech that lets you literally jump across multiple systems, by passing defense stations, etc. or jumping over to other star systems not connected in a quick fashion.

But now you have these "hyper relays" which are basically just super highways, Unlike the normal Relays, these super highways must be jumped system by system, but they make it so you don't have to travel across the system, and the cool down for jumping is much less.

You can get this tech very early in the game, or even early mid game..

Game was never designed for hyper fast travel at early/mid game to begin with. Having your opponents able to easily send massive fleets in seconds anywhere at any time is an absolute nightmare, especially when you can't, as the aggressor. You can use them if you take them, sure, but traveling still takes awhile for the systems you don't own, yet they can drop 5 fleets in 5 different systems in seconds, even at massive ranges that would normally have taken time to get there..

You want to bombard a planet? To bad. They will mass build corvettes, and destroyers and send them non stop at multiple systems, and they will do this in a fraction of the time it normally took.. You never have time to bombard planets, siege, or do anything other than chase around enemy fleets.

Then you add in the late game stuff, like the regular relays, and such which added to these hyperlanes are just an absolute joke in trying to do anything when your enemies can respond in seconds at a moments notice across monstrous distances even by mid game..

And don't get me started on the end game crises... you thought they were bad before...
-------------------------------

This DLC completely destroys the balance of the game, for this and many other reasons.
