Feels like a AAA, well-polished action game with an incredible and thought-provoking story, while also maintaining core RPG systems. Choices, from helping an unknown farmhand clear a ghost that's haunting a well to plotting the assassination of key political leaders, truly alter not just the game world, but the player's interpretation of the land and the people that populate it. Combat flows wonderfully and is always a joy to cleanly swipe the heads off of bandits or dodge and slice large monsters. Progression is a component in the game from beginning to the end, as Geralt transitions from basic witcher gear and a short supply of concoctions and gold to a legendary beast hunter equipped with the finest armor and weapons crafted by a legendary smith. The characters are built with real human emotion, and formulate lifelike relationships with Geralt and other characters which connect a convincing and lively world to traipse through. The graphical fidelity is on par with the soundtrack, as both bring Witcher 3 to a level that is hard to match. A few bugs and glitches are bound to appear in a world as vast as this one, but none have broken my own game. The Witcher 3 plus both expansions craft a journey that is unforgettable and incredibly enjoyable on the nth playthrough.
