Chaos;Child is an excellent visual novel and one of the best I have ever read. IMO,C;C is probably the strongest entry in the Science Adventure series thus far as well. Steins; Gate is extremely engaging during most of its duration, C;C feels a lot more focused and a step in the right direction for the series. Luckily the phase system debuting in Robotics; Notes is not present here making it much easier to digest the story. Compared to the first three entries in the series, the plot and scope of C;C feels smaller and more intimate than the other three (Chaos;Head, Steins;Gate, and Robotics;Notes). This works well and it really makes sense after reading both Chaos VNs what they meant by a thematic sequel. C;C engages with similiar ideas and technology but explores in different ways and in, as stated before, with a much more intimate lens.

It's not perfect. C;C has some long moments of downtime, while not nearly as notable as the first act of S;G, it's there and it could be a negative. The plot has condensed moments on intensity especially near the end with a lot tension, etc. And it would be strongly advised to anyone picking up the game to expect a more psychological horror/thriller rather than intensity of S;G.

To those thinking about going into the game: the less you know about the plot the better. Additionally have knowledge of Chaos;Head is strongly encouraged to the point where not knowing anything about the events or concepts in C;H would, imo, give a much different and probably watered-down experience. Having knowledge of S;G also helps with robotics;notes feeling the least connected especially considering it's chronological position in the series. C;C does make parts of R;N make more sense and the way they interact lorewise is cool.

All in all I could strongly recommend this to VN fans (especially fans of steins;gate). The game was a unique experience I won't forget.
