Very fun, I'm liking where the story is going so far. Game is running fine for me cranked up, not sure what everyone else's issues are.

This game is, simply put, amazing. If you love the ace combat series, you will LOVE this. Good story, dialog, nice graphics, fun gameplay. Runs very great in VR!

Been having a great time, played for about 4 hours the other day and made a lot of progress in the game. No crashes, some areas i had a small bit of frame dip but the game was running flawless for me otherwise, even while streaming at the same time.

Not discounting others' experiences, clearly there's issues, but my experience has been nothing but positive so far.

Going into EVA launched all my stages at once for some reason :)

Honestly, this is already my contender for best game of 2023. The gameplay is so satisfying, the music is fun, the characters are loveable, the graphics are pleasing.

It's like a rhythm game and a beat-em-up had a the most beautiful baby together.

The atmosphere is great, but it is riddled with clunky, frustrating combat that just makes you want to quit. Enemies are bullet sponges. This game will get you locked into so many animations that you're going to die. Camera angles frequently screw you over. Game forces you to focus on one enemy at a time, which will get you killed when they throw 10 enemies at you.

Fun but honestly, this just feels like a DLC to boneworks if anything. You're paying an (increased) price tag of $40 for a few extra features and mod support. It was fun for a little bit but it got old rather quick. Don't expect boneworks 2.0 out of this. This is just a disproportionately priced DLC for boneworks.

Campaign is also much more linear, shorter, and feels more frustrating than that of Boneworks imo.

Also.... TOO MUCH FOG ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

The devs go out of their way to make the experience as painful as possible for the users who support this game. Actively banning people for posting adult content made in private worlds, punishing mod creators for making Quality of Life updates in five minutes that the developers take years too push out. The community is what makes this game, but it seems the devs are actively trying to kill the playerbase. We are the ones who make VRC fun. We are the ones putting out mods that make the game somewhat bearable to use.

tl;dr The devs don't care about the players.

So, I would say wait a little bit until the devs drop another patch to address performance / hitching. When the game works, it is beautiful. It's fun. My first real attempt at a souls game and i'm having fun despite dying a lot. My positive review is for the gameplay... up to you if you're willing to put up with some weird hitching here and there (this will definitely affect boss fights)

When the game runs, it runs REALLY WELL. 4k 60fps. Beautiful cave lighting. Some open areas give some frame drops but it's mostly fine. Occasionally the game will have a hitch or two that makes it freeze for a few seconds. Wish you could uncap the framerate but oh well.

If you're having weird performance issues, try the fixes listed in the top reviews, helped bring me from "Freezing for one minute at a time" to occasional freezes that last a second at most. I'm sure the devs will patch it soon.
