Somehow, real life drivers are better than the drivers in this game.

With the walkback on the PSN requirement, safe to say this game is worth playing again ^^

Fun when it works.

The problem right now is that almost nothing works.

This game is extremely fun. I have been enjoying it for a long while before deciding to finally give my impressions of it;

It is a great game, with a few limitations, that has incredible potential. The games you can make with it can feel extraordinarily fulfilling, and often do once you commit yourself to creating unique classes, monsters, and npcs, with the nifty model editor. The community behind the game is also impressively welcoming for something of its scale, and have all been more than happy to test out the newest preview build for the upcoming update for a while, which has been seeing consistent improvement and fixes from an active, albeit small, development team.

To say I recommend this game is an understatement. See what you can make in the game. The AI subscribers have some interesting tricks up their sleeves for what appeals to them and it's very intriguing to try and decipher what they really need to stay invested in your quaint little dream game.

Tribal Hunter is way better than I anticipated, even after playing the demo. The game feel, though a little floaty at times, works very well with the mechanics. A simple concept is introduced to you as soon as you leave the village for the first time, and the rest of the game builds around that concept. The soundtrack is killer, the character design is superb, and the story is invigorating, even if it takes a little bit to grow into.

There is a handful of rewards for exploring, ranging from optional bosses to helpful collectibles. Enemy designs and abilities are typically straight-forward as you encounter them. The presentation of the Artist's Guild and how tips are provided to the player are also quite nice.

The game can get slightly grindy at times, especially if you are aiming to 100% it, but with how the mechanics work well together, it doesn't feel that bad to take a little extra time to clear out a zone again. Some ability upgrades just feel stronger than others, but that's to be expected with early access, and I do anticipate some tuning will be coming in future updates to tune the abilities better.

All in all, despite not aligning with the game's main target audience, I have genuinely enjoyed my time with Tribal Hunter. There is very rarely a game, especially a singleplayer game, that I play this much in this little time, and enjoy every minute spent in it. Strongly recommend.

Let me put this simple for you- if you are going to play competitively and exclusively try to win, avoid this game. It's chaotic and crazy, with less than ideal physics and rough connection. Don't take that the wrong way. This game is damn fun and I've enjoyed every second of it so far. But don't play this game expecting to win or trying hard to win. That's sure as hell not what the game is made for. It's dumb chaos. Embrace it, or they'll embrace you.

I've spent basically all of my free time in the past day playing this game. If you've been reading other reviews, you'll know a lot of people think the server is the problem- and in all honesty, the server is ONLY problem I've experienced with this game.

It runs smoothly, granted on Low settings with High textures resolution, on my rather low-end PC.
All the animations are lively- and honestly a bit moreso than Pokemon animations.
Many of the designs are actually worth looking at.
The music and audio design is impressive- though I think the battle theme could use a bit more enthusiasm.
Pace of the game is pretty nice, and it's actually fairly easy to understand a lot of the mechanics.

But perhaps my favorite thing about this game, above all else, is just how active the developers have been, and how many fixes they've been pushing in the past ~48 hours since release. If you check their twitter, they have been *hammering* away whatever bugs players find. Which, I still have yet to really encounter any.

Some people complain about some of the customization choices, how every hairstyle is made gender-ambiguously, or whatever- I really don't see the problem. I made a dude who wears a blue sweater everywhere just like I do so it's fine in my opinion.

In short, the only actual problem I've had with this game has been connection. The "Long Queue Times" I've never encountered. Even when the queue is 10k people, I'm in-game in about 10 minutes. Would I say it's worth $35- what I picked it up for-? I'd say definitely. If it's in this quality, with this much care from the developers, for only $35, that's a steal. This game actually rivals Pokemon. Y'know, AAA tier $60 game. And I prefer this over Pokemon, at this point. Definitely worth the price.

nice meme

fun with friends
especially since can use whatever character because you'll always be balanced with them
playing it alone can be fun but is less fun than with friends

make sure you're in a vc too because ingame chat apparently broke but don't worry bout it
gameplay is kinda neat
