I'm assessing the game before my final verdict, but so far it seems good.

The gameplay is fantastic. It's the best Tekken has ever been. Animation quality and sound deisgn is top notch, making every hit feel powerful. There's no jankiness like in early Tekkens. Some systems have been simplified (like normal grabs, which can now be broken with either punch), but this in general has lead to a more enjoyable game, where you have to keep fewer gimmicks in mind.

However, everything else has suffered. The netcode is bad enough that you just can't connect to all player.s. The tournament mode is unusable due to this, as every time there are a few players that can't connect with each other and the tournament gets stuck. It doesn't help that the tournament ends immediately if the host (whoever made the tournament) leaves. Side note: When online works, it works very well. It is designed to provide exactly the same input delay online as it does offline.

The options for matches are very limited, both online and offline. The maximum round limit is first to 4. You can't set health handicaps. You can't set infinite round time when playing online. No multi-character matches.

I still recommend the game, warmly. Just keep in mind that it does one thing well, but only that one thing. You'll have to play Tekken as Namco sees it, without being able to tinker with options for friendly matches. And, online might or might not work for you.

A proper strategy game that's so simple you can play it with an arcade stick.

This game is a lot of fun. The sniping has the tension it should have, considering the pretty tight areas (less than 300m in diameter), because you always have to think whether you can afford to take the shot. And more importantly, wether you can afford to miss.
I recommend playing with the Authentic difficulty and removing the aim assist from the Game settings.
Not worth 46€, but pick it up on sale.
