Sony listened to us and decided to remove the PSN requirement. We won. Glad they decided to listen. Major props to the devs for gaining the leverage to do this.

As much as this game had potential for something from what the trailers showed off, it just became a buggy mess that I can barely run at anything higher than about 40 or so frames on the lowest possible settings, or 20 fps in combat settings. Until things get fixed, I just can't bring myself to pay $60 for a game that can barely run well at all.

Extremely fun when it comes down to it. It can get a bit stale at times with the base game, but the modding community opens up a crazy set of possibilities. Lots of fun when you have others to play with you, too.

If you're looking for a game to recommend your friends, tell them about DDLC and how it's fun and whatnot. I'm sure they'll love playing it, since it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ adorable. However, do beware the horrors of this game at times. It can get into pretty deep subjects, and I'm sure you'll lose some sleep, but it's all good.

5 More Minutes Award because the game can drag you along in lobbies quite hard.

As it was, the Meet your Match update has been out for quite the time now. It was a rather interesting concept, and the idea of a second type of update similar to the WAR! event sounded cool. What did we get?

Heavy vs. Pyro.

Not a bad concept, but what was the purpose? Demo and Soldier can counter each other, and that made sense when it released. As for Heavy and Pyro, it doesn't exactly fit as well as it should have. Point being, you joined either Team Pyro or Team Heavy, and any points you gained counted towards the team. Whichever had the most points, listed in percentages, will get an update for balances and the possibility of new weapons. The final results came out as a 56% Team Pyro and 44% Team Heavy. I hope they don't over-nerf or over-buff anything, but that'll have to see.

I am also aware that Quickplay was removed and Casual was thrown into place. It isn't as bad as it seems, but it certainly gives off a much different feel than pubs used to be.

How do I feel about the game as a whole?

Pros
  • All around fun to play with others. Meeting new people is fun, and getting a group for Casual is great.
  • Variety of weapons allows for so many loadouts and playstyles to be chosen and experimented with.
  • Classes can be fun to master. You pick up as you go and get better and better.

    Cons
  • Matches can take a bit to find. I advise having a bit of patience. It's fast in some cases, but slow in others.
  • MVM is buggy as hell, particularly Ghost Town. It has a bug, where it constantly asks if you want to rejoin or leave. A small nuisance, but still a big one.
  • Getting steamrolled isn't fun when your team isn't the best suited, and you match against highly experienced players.
  • The balances due to the Competitive update are mixed. Some were for the best, others were nerfed to hell, like the Righteous Bison.

I do still highly recommend picking up the game, despite some mixed reactions from others. Give it a try. I've been a part of TF2 for a while, and making new friends is always great. Updates may come to this one once the Pyro class update releases.
