One thing many dont talk about is that the devs have scaled back what they used to offer you in the beginning of the game. They actually REMOVED your beginning access to some base levels/storage that you start with and put them in MORE DLC packages, while you have to grind more in the beginning. Effectively making people have less than what they paid for about 6 months ago, as they split up their game into more packages.

And the grind- The grind is impossible to level the trader- At least when it comes to how much time they want you to spend playing the game. The easiest quests give 1k, and many after that are dependent on successfully raiding, or even worse, "Do/Kill x amount of things without dying once in 5 raids". But the first milestone for traders is 25,000 xp PER trader, which is a level of grind that IMO asks too much of people playing a VR game. Grind in this game is ridiculously scaled to keep people playing, or to incentivize to make people pay more.

This game is fun, but honestly what I dont see many talk about or mention is that this game rewards running and gunning, jump spam, and one arm peekshooting with very little consequence. Ive seen people who, when they 100% know someone will peak a corner, they extend their arm out to the side as far as possible holding even a rifle to prefire and just attempt to outtrade and theres not enough downsides to just rushing people.

There is a playstyle of people who spend 100's of hours that just run around the map at full speed, and there is no stamina, no inertia, no consequence for one handing rifles in close ranges. Playing this game tactically almost barely works at all. The sound design also is quite garbage, as it punishes ANY slow tactical play whatsoever with incredibly loud footsteps. Its genuinely not worth playing slow when you can just move more, run and gun with one hand, and super peak corners/stretch out your player model to win corner trading.

Its a fun shooter otherwise and is the only game like tarkov in VR. But you have to be prepared to just play the way you want instead of whats meta because the jank the devs allow is a little silly.

I only have 5 hours in this game so far, only because I am waiting for friends to get the game soon, and plan to try to play with around 5-7 friends if I can manage to do so.

So far this game is extremely pretty- from a design/optimisation I can say that it is wild to see this level of detail and consistent yet unique design of the game.

It is simple, yet not. You have to think for yourself, have your creativity, it doesn't shoehorn its survival aspects and become interruptive and INCENTIVIZES you as a player to tend to your needs. Defenses matter, as anything and everything can damage your buildings, and WILL if given the chance to.

Most of all, this is quite literally a FULL game in retrospect of what it can give you. The only thing left is honestly content, more and more content, lots of content. The game is nothing BUT extremely playable, finishable. What it shows you, is what you get.

It's a dungeon crawler, its a survival-lite, its a Souls-esque combat game, it's a defense builder, it's SO many things and it does all of things so damned solidly, and people have not even skimmed the surface of the bosses, havent even killed the first one. And all of the bosses progress YOU as well. This game even deals in equipment stats kind of heavily, with tier upgrading ON TOP of some light-to-medium tech progression. Even has FARMING and TAMING and HUSBANDRY (although there arent a ton of tameable animals right now as far as I know. And most of all, this game is a challenge in all regards.

Awesome game, honestly. This is how Early Access games should be.

This game is a bunch of false promises and unfulfilled janky features that only ride along the hype of tarkov, dayz, and rust all at once while providing nothing new. Game is just a loot shooter and doesnt really excel at much else.

If you havent been playing this with at LEAST a house/alliance 75% of your playtime, AND haven't spent over 500 hours and counting since it released- You will forever be behind and you will forever be matchmade/against players who have a SEVERE problem:

- Massive gear score deficit
- Money whale P2W-ers
- End tier units that greatly outweigh the rest of the trees

That all makes you very, very weak and will never allow you to catch up even a fraction- And there are no modes that are even just for casual play that wont result in gold tier units steamrolling your own, no type of scaling, nothing. This game is strictly for the playerbase thats played there since the release.

PS- I am a maxlevel returning player that uses the MYGAMES client. I am so behind and dont have a full roster of elite units to the point its not worth trying to play. This game is a winner's game, and the winners are those who never stopped playing. Instead of making units stronger and adding more tiers, so many units are literally locked behind paywalls, and paywalls ONLY. The power creep of the DLC units is the only new content that comes out and those are not reachable in the 4-5 unit trees. They are attainable through massive grinding time windowed events, and people who buy units become instant match winners.

The base game tree units are basically futile to use when a whole lobby has gold tier DLC units, which nearly all do, now. The game is stale new player-wise and content wise. I'd be very inclined to play this with friends but A) I dont have much of those and B) It would suck for them anyways to play against high levels.

For now I give it an upvote in hopes that CodeHatch improves the game. The game itself runs smooth for me, and it looks gorgeous and It already looks like a ginormous step up from what Reign of Kings was bound to be.

The problem is the menus, the loading, optimisation, and the disconnecting; all things that can easily be fixed with some updates that they're undoubtedly working on right now. I have enough faith that they're not going to abandon the game right away.

Cons as of now:
- UI is somewhat blocky
- Getting into a game is actually a pain, otherwise I can see it being fun.
- Load times are rather long
- Many other bugs and imbalances that are yet unseen but players will encounter them soon enough, the key is how Codehatch tackles them

I want this game to succeed. Take all the negative reviews with a grain of salt as well, they're just getting in their jabs and stabs in on CodeHatch's history before they refund the game. I'll gladly change this review if my opinion changes. Otherwise, keep an eye on the game yourself and see what happens.

A Step Forward For A New Era Of Halo

Everything that it was on console, plus hopefully more to come later on. It may just remain an exact port with nothing but the already made content, and what with Halo Wars 2 coming out. But since both titles will be on PC, it's a giant step forward towards Microsoft allowing Dev company's IP's (In this case, future and past Halo titles.) Fun with randoms, even funner with friends. But I do warn you, there will be people who have the strategies down SO MUCH, that you will get annihilated if you're in it for a good time.

I'm at least hoping for Halo CE remastered to be released on PC. The classic multiplayer is ripe today, the simplistic mechanics still hold up against modern titles. And Im REALLY hoping for other means to play on Halo CE online.

Perfect port, perfect gameplay, and even better visuals, compared to your typical TV screen that a lot of us used to play on back in the day.

So, here's the deal. I'm a player that rages easily in a lot of competitive type games, and someone that's witnessed me show such anger gifted me this, and the Shelter games as half a joke/half therapeutic help game. I had no idea what they meant by "It's different. And fun.". So I installed this puppy to see what I'd get from it.

And my god they were right. This game is in all honestly, VERY, VERY relaxing. I feel kind of weird cause you basically roleplay as an animal, and you develop quick friendships with using nothing but emotes and animal calls, and you have a vast world to explore either by yourself, or with said newfound friends. There is no narrative, no real end goal, no competition, nothing.

I've felt like a complete dork and a little embarrassed, having chuckled so many times at certain situations ive been put in. You don't know who's behind the animal you befriend, and the game doesn't exactly WANT you to know. Just...plops you into a world, with minimal communication besides raw emotions via symbols. It doesn't matter what language you speak. I think this is a great game for those who want to relax, and create your own stories that you will surely remember.

Hell. Let your kids play this game if you got any. It's a fun little experience for those who want a change of scenery.

First Impressions/Overview

I do not expect far too much from it, as the content is limited (as of right now, anyway). As the game is right now, it is very barebones, as expected from a game that is in Alpha, in terms of the gameplay itself. There isn't much news about them adding too much of the incomplete content soon (or maybe as soon as I'd want it). Don't expect a full experience if you buy this, at this stage, theyre just wanting feedback on their balancing, UI, visuals, and mechanics.

Pros:
-Aesthetically pleasing to the eye
-The OST is one for the books (I do miss the old music, though.)
-UI is sleek, responsive, streamlined
-The entertainment value just for the lore itself is superb, faction intros will pull you in instantly
-Dev team is taking any and all feedback on the game VERY seriously
-None to Minimal performance issues/drops
Cons
-As someone who's played ES 1, I don't think I can compare the two at the moment
-UI is kind of large; text covers up large portions of the screen
-Replayability is limited at its current state
-Not too much mechanics/tecnologies/content, as it is in Alpha

Overall, right now, it's a must buy if you want it for the discount and wait, or you can play test it and give feedback as you discover what could be improved. Just don't recommend going into this expecting a full experience, as the game even tells you and give you an "Agree/Disagree" screen, so they don't have to explain to players twice about the game's current state. These Devs are the most caring company ive support, ever, and I have a feeling they'll take this game to a new height that you don't often see in 4x Strategy.
