Baldur's Gate 3 is an experience that brings TTRPG to the video game screen in a way that transcends expectations. It will not allow for limitless possibilities like what you may bring to the table. It will allow you to craft a story around your character and party that will resonate with you. It will allow you to make choices that matter more than most games and story arcs that revolve around those choices that spiral throughout the rest of the play-through. The main story has arguably more subtle choices that do mean less, and the ending may fall flat because of this. That said, for me, the smaller pieces of what make the adventure great are much less about the main story, and the narrative of the characters more than make up for the somewhat lukewarm main quest line.

Larian has carefully crafted this game as their latest work, improving on the formula they've been using for the Divinity series. When I saw this was in Larian's hands, I knew I would be excited to try it, but I've enjoyed my time with Baldur's Gate 3 much more than I anticipated. For me, it was well worth the money spent on the Collector's Edition.

It isn't perfect, but Larian does their best to make it as close to it as possible. And for the bugs and issues that crop up, Larian continues to tackle them.

Elden Ring, like the Souls games and Bloodborne, is a challenging game that rewards patience, learning, and curiosity. It explains the story better than some of the previous games, and offers a lot of quality of life improvements to match. There is a lot to enjoy in Elden Ring, and the variety of play and endings allow offer great replayability. Exploration of the world, especially on the first playthrough, is magical, with a variety of characters and locations.
It isn't without issues, as it suffers from Open World syndrome where some encounters that otherwise would make better one-offs, get repetitive over the course of the game. The same can be said for repeat playthroughs where the dungeons and certain areas offer little to come back to except for a specific item or two, unless missed on a previous playthrough.
That said, it is an enjoyable time and one of the best games out there.

Larian Studios has proven themselves again with this epic tale. A great deal of care and craft was needed to pull this game off, and it creates fantastical areas with engaging characters to follow. From Ifan fans to Sebille lovers, you can find one of the "Origin" characters to either play directly or have along side you and feel engaged with their world. This does mean non-Origin characters are a little less interesting by comparison, but still leave open for the world of roleplay.
Most of the game has improved over the original Divinity: Original Sin, with less repetitive lines, more fun combat (even if despite some cool spells of the first), an arguably more engaging story that thrusts action in a meaningful way, movement, and conversation options.

Overall, if you enjoy this type of game, you will probably enjoy Divinity: Original Sin 2.
