A nice experience and narrative, even though it's pretty short. I enjoyed my time with it but I wish there were more actual gameplay sections, which I feel they could have added in between chapters with no problem.

Warning: It may make you hungry.

I AM ONLY A REMAKE

Except not really, it's more than that. I've been a fan of the Bit.Trip series since they started on Wii, and I've enjoyed every single one. Runner was the smash hit of the franchise, so no wonder they kept embracing its popularity with sequels.

Now comes RERUNNER, just saw it out of nowhere and decided to try it out, and you could say, not only a remake of Bit.Trip Runner, it's also a celebration of the entirety of the Bit.Trip games. With its beautiful art-style, music, and fun gameplay, RERUNNER brings a bunch of new levels, as well as all the originals, and even some levels from all the games to boot! It's fun, and a little nostalgic, to go back to those beats from each entry.

Oh, there's also this tiny bit of an addition I guess I should mention: a level editor. Oh yes, I can't believe I didn't think of that before. I guess back then I thought it was pretty complicated to make levels or something, but this editor is pretty good and easy to use, and there's already quite a few user-generated courses to try, so that definitely adds to the replay value.

To think I was already done with my Bit.Trip after so long, but to quote Godfather Part III: "Just when I thought I was out... they pull me back in". (lol that movie sucks)
So do as I did, and try it if you miss that little fella running along a bunch of weird stuff to the rhythm of some sick music.

Look at you, hacker...

I never tried the classic title back in the 90s. A lot of people (myself included) might find a bunch of its mechanics quite outdated by now, but at the same time you can't disagree it was innovating in the genre.

So now we are back with the remake and we have the best of the old and the new, some frustrations included! (lol) But I wouldn't want it any other way; I feel like I'm playing a brand new game, but I'm back in 1994 at the same time.

I find the art-style very interesting, with its high saturation and a low res texture effect, plus added lighting, you can even tell the intented mix of time periods in the graphics, which I found great.

The game does have differences with the original, I've heard, but I can't say exactly since I'm not familiar with the latter. Mostly in terms of game mechanics like limited inventory space and better movement system overall.

If you miss the 90s you gotta try this. Damn, even if you don't miss the 90s, it's just a good game. I mean, there's a laser rapier for christ's sake.

The name is Lila...

William is no good with emotions, so you gotta help him show (or not show) his true intentions. After the disappearance of a girl you seem to have seen last, it's our job to puzzle the pieces together and try to understand what is going on.

I can feel the David Lynch inspiration right away. Hell, there's even a poster in a scene. So, if you are familiar with his work, you'll know how easy to follow the narrative is. You'll probably be a little lost at first during your playthrough, but this is one of those games which requires to keep playing multiple times and get all the endings to put everything into context.

The art-style is great, you can unlock a few color palettes which definitely help with the "Lynchian" atmosphere, and you can create your own as well! I was worried that a limited color palette would make it harder to tell apart the 3D environment, but it works very well.

Definitely try this if you want an out of the ordinary type of game with a cool concept and ambitious ideas.

Don't get ahead of yourself
I'm bad with puns, sorry.

Anyway, ElecHead is a very fun puzzle platformer which I understand is made by a one-man developer, so that's cool.

Very simple concept, in which you power up surfaces when you touch them, and you also get to throw your head, your main source of energy, to reach further away places. The game gives quite a bit of variety of puzzles so you can really take advantage of your abilities so I doesn't feel repetitive.

I also really enjoy the 8-bit graphic style, there's a 2 color palette combinations and you can select (and discover) different ones. It definitelly works for this kind of game. The music is very well done too.

Not a lot of bad things to say about this game to be honest, puzzles are great and not too challenging, style is good, music good, the only bad is probably the length, which is quite short. Usually I don't mind short games but when I finished I felt like I wanted more to play, which in a way it can be a good thing haha. Still worth it, nonetheless!

Overall I give ElecHead 4 out of 5 decapitated robots.

The future is now!

What a fantastic game! So much love and thought was put into every detail to simulate and pay homage to the pre-2000 internet era. Too bad your job is to police and regulate the web.

Gameplay is simple enough, you get reports of people or content on the internet which must be taken care of, so you get to do so at your own pace. You can observe all the users posting messages and showing their interest to the world. That's the wonder of Hypnospace, eh?

There's a lot of personality in this game. The devs know what was like to be part of the internet back in the day, and they show it perfectly. There's so much to explore and find while feeling nostalgic for the 90s, which is the main charm of the game. Even if you didn't really experience this part of history or don't know much, this could very well be its own time capsule simulation for you to enjoy.

Don't miss this out if it sounds even a bit interesting!
I give Hypnospace Outlaw 5 out of 5 Squisherz.

They have been making 11 of these games and they still can't spell 'Combat' correctly.

YEAH BABY!
My boy Swery65 coming back again with yet another game that makes me get into that brain of his. The creator of Deadly Premonition gives us a more relaxed game this time, kinda comparable to DP and Animal Crossing? Not a perfect game for sure but an unique one, which is what I follow Swery-San for.

So it's kinda hard to explain what this game is exactly. You move to the "happiest town in the world", get to know the people, have to solve a mystery, the usual, but added you have extra weird stuff which knowing the developer I'm sure you expect.
You are also a journalist/photographer, so you get to earn money by taking pictures of whatever you find, among other ways too. It ain't much but it's honest work.

Now for the bad stuff: the world fills quite empty outside the town, and the scenery often feels repetitive, which probably doesn't help with the feeling of emptiness. I also found it quite tricky to find some materials and other specific items for certain quests, so that made my quest list get really big in no time. That could be my fault though.

Still I definitelly recommend The Good Life. Probably since I'm a city folk I don't get used to life outside the concrete jungle :P

I give The Good Life 3 out of 5 beers.

Ace Attorney but with more xenophobia

I've been looking forward to playing TGAA for a long time, being a huge fan of the Ace Attorney games for years now. I had a feeling I'd like this game either way, but I had no idea how much care and thought they put into the title.

Just so you know, I've just beaten the 1st game and I've still to play the second half of the collection, but right now I'm absolutely in love, everything you know and love from the saga is here: great characters, engaging story and dialogue, and that trademark humour you come to expect; but also some new gameplay systems like multiple witnesses, the jury, and of course my boy Sherlock Holmes Herlock Sholmes with his Great Deduction Skills™.

Gotta give credit as well to the translation team, which make a fantastic job. Not an easy task to localize a game, let alone one with this specific context. The setting is awesome as well and a great change of pace from the other titles.

If you are wondering, you don't have to play any Ace Attorney game to enjoy this. This is a spin-off, meaning it's its own story, and a really good one at that.

Overall I give this 5 outdated autopsy reports out of 5.
