Though I only have a few hours in the PC version thus far, I played this game twice back to back on the PS4 around release and since then it has become my favorite game of all time. Yoko Taro is an absolute madman and takes you on a ride full of action, tragedy, and lots of dead machines. I'll avoid spoilers by just saying that the story of this game is beautifully told and executed. If you're used to any of Taro's other works you know what you're getting into, if not then strap in and get ready for a wild ride. The gameplay is fairly typical Platinum fare so if you like slashing up huge groups of baddies then you're gonna feel right at home. I might add that it is quite satisfying to watch some of the move executions and crazy attacks that you can do with the various weapons in the game.

Music and sound design is the other part of the game that really stands out. Keiichi Okabe and his studio, Monaca, have been working with Taro for quite some time now. Nier's soundtrack was incredibly composed and made such a huge impact in game at many points throughout the story. Automata is very much like this. There's so many techniques and influences throughout the OST that really make it feel like it is interwoven with the story and gameplay seamlessly. I'm infinitely impressed at how well all the elements meld together to create the masterpiece that is this glorious game.

On a side note, I haven't noticed many issues for this port in the hours that I've played. There was a tad of studder at first but after turning off AA and keeping ambient occlusion on it runs perfectly on my rig. A patch would be very much appreciated though

Good game once you get good and get sucked into the infinite loop that is doing Dark Souls runs over and over just cause all the builds are super neat and you really wanna watch Smough and Ornstein get wrecked for the millionth time
