All jokes about the launch aside, this is a step down from PD2 in more ways than it is an improvement.

Changes to stealth, movement and combat make the game feel fresh and new, but there are lots of major quality of life changes that make the game a slog to play.

I think the team intended for the new progression system to feel more gradual and meaningful, but the XP being linked to challenge completion is a confoundingly bad decision. The lack of a server browser, offline mode, pre-planning, visible loot values and a chat feature before the game starts cause so many headaches that the game isn't worth playing in its current state.

As it stands, you'll have to set aside your entire day just to find a lobby, and once you find one it's entirely possible that you'll walk away with no XP if you didn't complete any of the menial challenges such as using a specific weapon or sliding all over the map.

Give the game a year or so to pick up speed or buy it at an extremely steep discount. PD2 had its stumbles when it launched and eventually hit its stride, but PD3 lacks so many features that it feels like a major downgrade at launch.

this it literally like playing through a perfectly serviceable 7/10 crime thriller. it's so short that it doesn't get boring and the worst you can say about it is that the gameplay is pretty bland.

Paid $1.24 for this during the summer sale but I would've paid full price with no hesitation if I knew it'd be this good

Simple, fun pick-up-and-play game with an excellent soundtrack. This game is extremely charming and, from a design standpoint, rock solid. Mobile port plays extremely well too.

It's a decent game, though it has close to no replay value. DEFINITELY not worth $12.
