The Finals invokes Battlefield 3's destruction physics in a refreshing way. The gunplay is fine, nothing special there.

The mechanics are intricate and not necessarily in a good way. If you've got the time and patience to learn niche mechanics for a very unique game, have at it.

Game is great. Play with other people, use the proximity voice chat, you'll have a blast.

Please stop spawning bees next to the ship entrance.

Remember to do your part and kick cheaters.

Pretty cool horde shooter

9/10 TL DR: A definitive CRPG/Sandbox experience with plenty of freedom and engaging story but occasionally bogged down by immersion-breaking rushed romance (we met like 3 days ago, party npc. calm down) and miss inputs/overwhelming mechanics.

Gameplay is remarkable in that it lets you frequently do exactly what you want (within the grace of the dice) in combat and out of combat.

Exploration takes place in many large Forgotten Realms-themed sandboxes with dynamic events and tons to interact with. Throw props, extinguish light sources to enhance stealth, walk around invisible and scout out the world. BG3 is quite the large oyster.

Story is huge (im about 50~ hours into my main playthrough and just hitting the peak of Act 2). I'm enjoying the intertwining plot lines and dialogue choices. Tons of candy for Forgotten Realms fans. The romance is really aggressive and frequently feels rushed or otherwise shoved down your throat. If you're too nice to the party then they'll happily jump into your pants at the drop of a hat.

Character customization is pretty intensive across the many races and classes.

The isometric gameplay can lead to many miss-inputs. Combined with the elaborate mechanics, the game can get frustrating and overwhelming. Most of this is remedied with a nice F5 (quicksave) and F8 (quickload).

Game runs much better if you disable the Larian Launcher (I went from 40fps on low to 144fps on medium after disabling)

Fun game but don't go getting competitive. Live out your dreams of being a sadistic horror antagonist or a quivering victim desperately trying to escape.

Its basically horror movie themed hide and seek.
