Labor of Love? Give me a break. This game is abandoned by the devs and has been for a long time.

Early Access Review
I first bought BeamNG in late 2014, before the game was even available on the Steam store. Since then, I've seen this game grow from a goofy little crash simulator into an extremely sophisticated vehicle simulator. Since BeamNG was so intelligently created, the game supports just about any vehicle or racing discipline that you could think of. The game is also jam-packed with settings so that each player can fine-tune the games experience to exactly what you're looking for.

Currently, the game is packed full of thrilling scenarios in which you race AI, drive through obstacle courses, partake in deadly police chases, or anything else your mind could come up with. With the inclusion of the mod repository, you could easily spend hundreds of hours in scenarios alone. If scenarios don't sound enticing to you, you could take a nice cruise in free roam, transform your econo-box into a vicious drag-race machine, or race your friends in the Mulitplayer mod. This game is already so packed full of content that ANY person, not just gear-heads, could find an activity that suits them.

As it stands, BeamNG is already one of the best car games of all time and is EASILY worth the money. You should seriously consider purchasing if you have an interest in cars or racing at all.

Thats all to say, this game is worth it, even without the upcoming career mode. Having played around in the career preview (spam click the career button to try it), its easy to see the absolutely insane potential that this game has. There are already foundations for car ownership, car customization, deliveries, missions, races, and all kinds of other systems that are already very promising in the depth that they provide. If the BeamNG devs are able to form those foundations into a full-fledged product even somewhat comptently, then BeamNG will easily have the best career mode of any racing game in a long time. If the BeamNG devs instead manage to nail career mode as hard as they have the rest of the game, then BeamNG will go down as one of the greatest games in history.

Early Access Review
3 people created a better game than DICE can with millions of dollars and hundreds of people. These people are the few devs in the modern gaming industry that actually deserve your money. No mircrotransactions invading your screen and begging you to buy garbage that someone spent 1-2 hours on. Forget all other AAA shooters 'cause ALL of them are trash compared to this game.

This could change with them being in Early Access, but for right now this dev team is definitely on the right track.

This game is absolutely amazing. Between my hours on PC (most don't get logged cause I don't use steam overlay when I'm using mods) and my hours on Xbox 360, I have to have amassed at least 1000+ hours. This game is very similar to Skyrim so if you're into Skyrim you would probably be into this game. I actually much prefer Oblivion over Skyrim, mostly due to, in my experience, the quests being better in Oblivion and the RPG systems being a little more oldschool which I prefer. The quests in Oblivion tend to have more variety and some quests are incredibly creative. Give Oblivion a try if you don't mind the older graphics, the game has a lot of charm and is very much worth playing.
