Early Access Review
A spiritual successor with very high potential to the Wargame series. The combat is so far very smooth and feels right at home with the previous titles and much of the QoL improvements that were promised are already in the game that makes this title easy for newcomers and veterans alike.

This game has something for everyone. Want to just hop in for a quick match without sweating too much? The AI is significantly better than WG:RD's AI which is basically the classic 'spam' dumb AI. This title's AI proves to be challenging and actually makes great moves as seen in SD:2 but with likely slight improvements and I'm sure more to come.

I am personally glad that the devs are focusing on divisions rather than nations and putting a hard cap on units at 1989, it certainly makes balancing a bit more interesting and perhaps easier. Many useless deck building features from WG:RD are now gone and replaced such as the 'VEHICLE' tab and the QoL changes can also be seen here too. It's also worth noting that the values here are different that what you will see in WG:RD so also keep that in mind.

While I am still exploring WARNO, the combat feels very smooth and doesn't feel off at all. It feels just like WG:RD and that isn't necessarily a bad thing. If you are coming from that particular title, it should be noted that everything is scaled differently in WARNO. Combat ranges are different but otherwise should feel relatively comfortable. Damage values are also different which should also be taken in to account. Unit speeds, on the other hand, do feel pretty fast. Compared to WG:RD, my armored column was able to make it to the front from spawn point in mere seconds. However, I do believe that this will be addressed as many are talking about it.

My other gripe is the subpar UI design both in-game and the armory to be specific, this can be easily fixed and adjusted. It's not game breaking in anyway at all, just somewhat distracting. In-game camera is a bit distracting too as I try to point the camera downward, it seems to keep re-adjusting on its own to the default position.

While it is an early access title, the devs have stated that they will be regularly adding updates throughout up until official launch which includes maps and new divisions (nations, units, etc). As someone with nearly 900 hours in WG:RD, I can easily recommend this title as it's only going to get better from here on out. If the lack of content at this current moment is a turn-off for you then I would advise to wait a little bit until more content gets thrown in, but for $30 it's not too bad.

Solid game play and customization. Everything is unlocked for you at the start. Only gripe is the weird camera controls.
