I've decided to buy and play Everhood after watching a friend play through the first half of the game on his stream, and I do not regret a single cent spent on it, especially since it only costs 10 bucks.
It's really hard to not give a proper review without going into spoilers, as the least spoilers you know of this game the better the experience will be.

Everhood is... an experience. The game itself takes elements from Undertale, Yume Nikki, OFF, bullet-hell games and even Guitar Hero, and manages to combine them together into a trippy yet delightful and rich game.
The soundtrack is very varied in its genres but not a single track is bad, gameplay can be tricky yet very rewarding, and the story is... well, I will stop myself from saying too much.
There are many references and easter eggs that will surely give you a chuckle, and all the characters are a delight to meet and come to know.
The game is also aware of its wild imaginary, and has Accessibility options to both reduce the amount of screen effects so to lower the strain on your eyes, as well as a Color Blind option that adds symbols over the battles' beats.

TL:DR - Highly recommended game that more people should know about.

I have been playing PSO2 ever since day 1 of its release on Steam, after waiting for its western release for 4 years since I started playing it on the Japanese servers. With over 700 hours spent on the Japanese game and currently over 400 hours spend on the Global version, I think I can finally share my opinion on the game.

This review may be a little buyist, but I am not lying when I say that this is not your usual MMO, and may even be one of the best ones out there. While yes, I do agree with others that the Western version holds a lot less content than the Japanese servers (there are a lot less weapon drops choices and some elements are missing), watching how they're quickly catching up and making sure that your experience is always the best makes up for it. The staff behind the Global server is always looking into improving the game and fixing its issues, which not many companies tend to do.
The game is very rich with content. While the story can be confusing and not one of the best ones out there, as well as tending to drag out a lot and lose focus here and there, it highly compensates with everything else it has to offer.
The gameplay is fun and engaging, with a combat mechanic in which you have to actively time your actions to unleash the full potential of your attacks. You're also not forced to seek out parties to go on quests if you don't want to. While playing in parties does give you a bonus, you can easily play your whole experience in solo and use computer-controlled characters to help you out just in case, as most quests allow for 12 players to play together even if completely unrelated, and you're free to mind your own business during them.
And if you don't feel like going out there to fight, you can spend your time in the lobbies and chat with other players or chill out in the other areas such as the Casino or your own personal quarters.
The game also offers a PvP mode that while weaker than other games, it still has its strong points, and the matches are fairly quick.
Also have I mentioned that the game is free-to-play? All of PSO2's content is available to everyone from the start, and the paid content is mostly for convenience or for further customization of your character's appearance, which players who don't want to spend money on is still able to acquire thanks to other players' ingame shops. Comparing all of this to what other f2p MMOs have to offer out there, in my opinion PSO2 makes it right.

If I can give a bit of advice for whoever wants to try the game, do not be afraid to look up on the internet what does what and tips on how to get properly started. While the game is indeed rich with content, it tends to just shove it all in your face with little explanation, and it may get tricky to get your footing back on track on the long run, especially on more technical elements such as Mag growth or Classes' skill trees. Also don't be afraid to ask to other players in the game for advices on how to play the game or how to progress.

So as a final verdict, I highly recommend the game for those who are looking into a MMO which is not afraid to hide its content behind paid services and has a lot to offer with a fun gameplay.

Only a quick warning from an European player: While the game is rated PEGI 16 or even PEGI 12 in Europe, it's actually rated M (17+) in America. This results in some things to slip off in the chats, such as NSFW Symbol Arts (chat images) and dirty jokes from various players. So, just a headsup in case you're still a minor and you're getting in the game. Even though the rating may end up changing to 18+ for us as well in the future, seeing how in Japan the game went from CERO:C(15+) to CERO:D(17+), but we'll have to see.
