Can't help but mention the good parts: nice moody soundtrack and stylish visuals. Gameplay wise, however...

The enemies are extremely repetitive. Too much micromanaging your junk around. Some upgrades feel worthless, while others are OP. Multiplayer limited to 2 players. Weird bugs and disconnects in MP.

And the icing on the cake: guns that feel like peashooters. For a game called Wizard with a Gun, the gunplay is unforgivably weak.

Basically Dwarf Fortress Adventure Mode, but Dark Tower.

Great mechanics, vivid writing and worldbuilding. The soundtrack by Craigory Ham is absolutely fantastic.

Fell in love with this game a long time ago.

Just as Konstantin Koshutin's previous game (Hammerfight), this one is a flawed masterpiece.

The Gerat desert is a gorgeous handcrafted world with a consistent narrative to it. The dogfights are unnerving and very intense, the dread of war and constant pursuit are also very real. I've spent some hours in it since the release and I find it real hard to get away from this game.

But while the visuals and audio feel fantastic and the combat is thrilling, Highfleet has noticeable game design and accessibility issues, some of which feel as if they were intended as features.

There are no options whatsoever for the graphics, except the Glitch effect and Dithering. Neither there are any keybind options. The only way to save the game is to reach a certain point on the map, risking your fleet to be destroyed in process or put in a very unfavorable postion, which totally ruins the point of saving.

There are also noticeable bugs with loading your save or ending your current campaign to earn points. The repair system is also very buggy and unintuitive, and the GUI in general has flaws like that all over the place.

It's also very frustrating to only be able to use one ship at a time, even if you have a large fleet. There are no AI allies and larger enemy fleets always begin in groups of 3, with reinforcements arriving as soon as you destroy one of them. While is this is OK with ships of equal size and firepower, it's very frustrating to fly a cruiser against a cruiser and 2 medium fregates; the fregates can easily outmaneuver you while you're taking your time to face the cruiser and there is no-one to protect you from them.

Let's hope things improve in the future, though! The game is very much playable right now, but it seriously lacks polishing and some common quality of life features found in most other games.

UPD: As of 03.08.21 Highfleet received a 1.1 patch that addresses many of the mentioned problems. There are now resolution options and screen effects can be reduced. According to Konstantin, more is to be fixed in the nearest future. Awesome!

This game pushes all the right nostalgia and "down the rabit hole" feeling buttons. The gameplay was so addictive that I've basically finished this in one go without even noticing.

The storyline was somewhat predictable, but still left me touched as all the characters are carved with such detail it feels like a true novel.

It's a real experience and a treat for your vaporwave/glitchy/detective/rabbit hole aesthetics. Oh, and humor and satire are also really nice!
Thanks.

Extremely repetetive gameplay made me refund it. It was just not entertaining enough to keep playing it.

One of the most sophisticated and unified tools I've encountered for map making. While not without its own problems and bugs, Dungeon Painter Studio is still the only one that has exactly what I need for making my FATE Core, DnD5 and other custom TRPG tiles.

As a DM, I believe that creating your worlds through mapping them out first is one of the nicer ways to get inspired for your game, and Dungeon Painter Studio really helps me with that.

As always, Steam Workshop makes it so much more than it already is.

I received Cobalt WASD for free as I backed Cobalt development during Alpha stage 5 years ago. It's Cobalt, minus all the amazing features that made it Cobalt. No rolling, much less slo-mo action and no hard-to-master roll aiming - there's just nothing that makes Cobalt WASD a tough competetive game the original Cobalt is. It pretends to be CS:GO and does its job poorly.
Well, at least there's still the original game which is great.
