God this game is good. Challenging, every vehicle loadout plays differently, and the writing is top-shelf. The destructable environments are awesome. The mechs and tanks are really awesome. It's hard, but not cheap. The lore you can unlock makes the little details in the mech and world design all the more interesting. You can stomp on tiny humans. The whole package is just so thoughtful and well-designed, and beautiful too.

I cannot wait for modding tools. There's seriously so much good stuff going on here. Buy this.

Fun and surreal experiential game. The sound design and graphics are nicely done, and the real joy of the game comes from seeing unexpected things happen in the environments. It's fun to see the scenes transform, and watching weird stuff unfold in otherwise normal-looking spaces reminded me of Myst. The sounds are really evocative as well, especially in the parking lot scene. A VR mode would be fun...it would be cool to be able to explore in more than the fixed rotational perspective.

That all being said, it's short, minimalist, and more like a showpiece for environmental design than a full-fledged game. This reminded me of the Diorama series for the Vive in that you get to experience a well-designed environment but there really isn't much of a game mechanic. The interaction feels perfunctory and there's no branching - you hunt for the next trigger to click and once you find it the next thing happens. I think some people will be turned off by the lack of variation, but for me, it was satisfying and kind of sublime. I recommend it, especially if you're interested in game design.
