New World is nothing new of its genre, its a game with a tacked on PVE portion and combat that while slow and hevay is also clunky at times and clearly suffers from being undercooked.
Outside of this there are several other issues but the biggest being the ban system that can be triggered by mass reporting which currently have caused alot of issues for people on the steam discussion page.
The code of conduct you agree to when playing the game specifies that if any player takes any sort of offense to something you said or did in-game they may report you, should a number of people report you for an "offence" you may be banned by the auto-ban system. This is an inherent risk in playing the game and clearly does not lead to any abuse at all!.. I mean surely not?... Yeah...
Since the code of conduct is vague and use broad termonology any abuse is therefore also justifiable regardsless of wether or not the updated code of conduct includes a section against abusing the system as any player may feel offended for what you have done or said therefore nullifying the ramifications for mass reporting you. Also its a pvp game and the content is barebones as it is, the wars can even be gamed by reporting the rival factions company leader.

This is like gambling... like any other roguelike..

Take Magickas magic system, tweak it a bit, take the multiplayer pvp from magicka and youhave Wizard Wars. Wizard Wars allows you to battle both friends and foes in a team based or duel based mode, use your quick button mashing and make anything out of the elements at your disposal just to kill someone with a spell, beware though, friendlies can and will be damaged by your spells the same way their spells will do to you.

So what are you waiting for? Oh yeah the game needs to get out of closed beta. You ain't missing much atm, the duel mode they have implented is the only mode availible which means you will get your ass kicked by people that are much fatser then you, does it matter though? Not as long as you can call down a toilet or hellfire from the sky to aid you...
