The problem with Atomicrops is that it is too good for its own good so no matter how much you play it, it always feels like there is not enough content. The game is definitely worth buying as it became one of my base stimming games.

The concept is very clever and the meta-progression still keeps me busy. The game is divided into two portions, the day, where you have to balance exploring the map and keeping up with your farm as well as the night where you defend against the waves of enemies. After each wave you travel to the city where you buy new guns, upgrades and flirt with characters you can marry for different bonuses.
Sometimes, the game gives you no time to react with the enemies becoming incredibly annoying at higher difficulties. There is a massive difficulty spike at around Year 8 (Years go from 1-10 and are simply the difficulty of the game with 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest) but it's not really that big of a problem to get used to. The meta-progression is at first based around gathering currency which you can spend on upgrades, and later on, on getting cats which give you small upgrades to your stats.
The system seemed a bit barebones at first, but I quickly discovered that the upgrades are quite expansive and with DLCs more and more meta-progression systems being released. You are also rewarded for getting achievements, and in general the game does a lot to keep you interested.
There are issues, the mentioned annoying enemies sometimes bordering on unfair, the fact that after you explore every single location on the current map you have nothing to do for the rest of the days besides just waiting for the farm to finish, but with the variety of characters you can play, some of which completely change the core gameplay of the game, as well as the amount of just fun stuff there is to discover, there is a massive amount of content to keep the game going.
The problem? I still want more, and it feels like the devs have moved to other games.
I wish there was a workshop update to allow for mod support, but even if there isn't, I still really love this game and recommend it.

A fun, free adventure that I would pay real money for, but even with the quality on display, the price of the DLC is a bit steep. I might support the dev by buying it some other day when I have more money, but I recommend everyone to play it. The humor can be hit and miss at times but it's a geniuently fun and charming adventure made with obvious love.
Honestly would love to see a sequel or something.

I have no idea who would need this game in the first place. You know what I would do if I wanted to play with puzzles?

Buy some actual ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ puzzles.

The gameplay is just plain boring but my ears are giving a big middle finger to my brain so I recommend this.

Buy it if you want a game that looks like a JRPG, has dialouge taken straight from a saturday morning cartoon and some interesting puzzle+strategy mixture.

Can't say I didn't enjoy it.

It had a quality of a flash game.
The graphics looked like from a school project.
The gameplay was nothing special.
The soundtrack was actually kinda nice.
It drops cards.
