In all, this is a really disappointing entry in the series. My PC had a lot of issues with this port, but the main problem lies with the actual game itself. The story is a real let down, mainly due to the fact that the characters themselves are poorly formed. Working through the story felt like a chore, moreso than any other RPG I've played recently.

Battling in this game is satisfying, but a far cry from Tales of Graces: F, which a game I'd much rather be playing. A major selling point for the game was the ability to have the environment feature in your battles, and while it seems neat at first, more often than not it just ends up getting in your way and making fights needlessly complex.

My most notable takeway from this game is having to do a 1v1 fight against a knight in the main city. This isn't abnormal for the series, and many entries do a great job at it. In Zestiria however, the battle takes place in a courtyard with a tree in the centre. I can't tell you the amount of times I had to move the camera because this tree was blocking my enemy. I think that says a lot about this game. No one cared enough to fix visibility issues in a unavoidable fight in the story. Just don't buy this game if you expect a sharp, well-made RPG. Maybe pick it up if you've got low expectations and it's on sale.

If you'd rather play a good Tales game, just pick one of the following. By no means is this an exhaustive list, but if I can save you from putting time and money into this game, then this review will have been worth it. If you have a chance, just forget this exists:
