Great game. I played it back when it came out in 2001 and when I saw that they'd made an HD version I had to have it.
This game gives you the greatest satisfaction when you build that seemingly impenetrable castle. You sit there and admire your work and get that soothing sensation of comfort and security. You feel prepared to take on any attack... Only to have it all destroyed when the enemy brings out the big siege weapons and breaks through the walls.

I understand that there are a lot of negative reviews since in the beginning the game was a little unpolished. But with the patches and the trickle of team releases it is becoming a solid game. Very true to the board game. The graphics are eons better than Chaos Edition and the animations are superb. I like the cruching blows and satisfying feeling you get when succefully blocking and breaking the opponents armor.

Also to all those that say Cyanide is milking the players by slowly releasing teams I really disagree. It tages an immense amount of time and money to make all the different animations of every team. They could of course have chosen to release the game with all teams having some static or default movement animation, but the charm of it is that every team is uniquely different in every way.

I really enjoyed this game. There are loads of G1 references for fans and the history is rich and well presented. I especially enjoyed playing as Bruticus as he is so well portrayed and the feeling of being an all powerful and indestrucable combiner is spot on! The option to play as G1 characters in the missions after you complete the story mode is awesome.
Highly recommended.
