An original world that somehow fails to get you to care about it. Side-missions are boring and repetitive. If you can snatch it for a discount, sure, but not worth the full price.

Early Access Review
This game is a great example of the phrase "copy like an artist". There are systems and aspects taken from many games, such as Rust, Minecraft, Skyrim (sort-of) and I'd even say elements from the Witcher games. It's fairly forgiving for a survival game most of the times, but if you get reckless or ignore the game systems (i.e. hunger, resistances, facing enemies that you're not ready for) you'll be punished.

For an early-access game, this title is fantastic and worth every bit the buzz that's going on around it. I really hope the developers manage to build on the strong foundation they've created and expand both the world and the existing systems. Once you kill the fifth boss, there's really nothing to do in the world except building and hoarding trophies. Again, this is expected as the developers have said they're not finished and they plan on adding a lot more content to the game.

The graphics are lo-fi, but the lighting and water makes it gorgeous as a whole. Of course I'd love to see an RTX/hi-def version of the game, but the lo-fi approach really does come together as a pleasing aesthetic.

The combat is a bit wonky, but still fun. I see some parallels to the souls series in the way the combat works and it would be great if this aspect of the game had some more polish. Despite the wonkyness of it all, it's really fun crushing through 50 skeletons during a base-raid with a huge hammer.

Overall it took me nearly 60 hours to max out on all the unlocks and to craft the best items in the game. Again, for an early access game I'd recommend this to almost any type of player and I'm very hopeful regarding the future of the game. Best enjoyed with friends.

8.8/10
