They added a bunch of things that turned out very half-baked for modders to play around with, but in their story mode where they introduce these features they are just horrible . Inconsistent control schemes when using the newly added vehicle system, climbing that never seems to work well (or even somewhat reliably), and the avatar change system where there is always an ideal avatar stat setup so you're limited on customization.

The levels after you unlock avatar switching feel so boring. Puzzles that require you to just switch to either the strongest, tallest, or fastest avatar and basically clear the level. There wasn't a point in the story where I felt at all like they had a cool showcase of changing avatars on the fly. It's just...be this one to do this section of the level, then change for this section, and oh wait you have to be really small to go through here!

As of now, before any major mods or fixes, it's just not worth it. It feels like Bethesda releasing a bad product for the community to fix and add to it later.

Very fun gameplay loop, all content feels doubled with an entire second character class! Loads of variety in enemies, equipment, and upgrades, and randomized upgrades and resources each run create a lot of room for build customizations. Already looking forward to more content additions!

Ridiculously fun, much preferred over Mini Metro. Traffic management in a compact, arcade-style format.

Nothing but improvements on the original. Even more depth and replayability, higher difficulty, more significant movement options due to being 3D instead of 2D.

One of the best roguelike/lites I've ever played, and I have only beaten the (current) final boss once. After that, you unlock a new difficulty which stacks several times. There are so many unlocks to get as well, and the game doesn't really feel lesser without the late-game ones, getting them just feels good but isn't generally groundbreaking. Plus, they just keep adding new things and making balance changes that are awesome.

TL;DR: Game good, buy game.

Really fun randomly generated tracks, challenging challenge levels, cool trick system.

Despite the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ perormance issues it had on release, it's significantly better now and is a great improvement on the first game. Emily has really cool, unique abilities that change the way you can play the game drastically. There are plenty of references to the first game that are great.

On the negative side of things, whether you play as Corvo or Emily, they sometimes talk at very odd times. I really don't feel it's necessary most of the time. It's not really that bad until they get a bit emotional even though it doesn't seem all that deserved. Especially when it comes time to start the mission where you lose Jessamine's soul and swap it for Delilah's. Both Corvo and Emily tell her "you should be at peace," and they seem very calm and collected about it. At the beginning of the mission, Corvo and Emily are both very confused about what Jessamine is talking about when she says "this is my last night" and things like that, even if you've explored the entirety of the previous level and know exactly what's happening. Hell, the main story part that happens in the previous mission almost flatout tells you what will happen. However, once it comes time to release the soul, Corvo and Emily both react very strongly. I guess that's just the drawback of having voiced protagonists.

Overall, highly recommended if you're a fan of the stealth-action style of gameplay.
