This game looks deep and complex at first but it's actually really dumb. You have control to give population amenities, houses, jobs, but when it comes to actually building your military, to unlock ships it's all random, you don't get to choose what ships to research, just hope for the best that the option to do so pops up in 1 of 3 researches you choose to do. Played several Romulan campaigns, first two times got ship upgrades in the first 30 minutes, third time it didn't show up for me even after 4 hours. Your tech tree progress is also luck based, want to close borders with other races? Well you better hope to encounter a few randomly.

Tutorials are totally useless. I never played Stellaris but the developers seem to assume you have, no explanation of any game mechanics, just "This button does exactly what the name says, and here's some flavor text."

Combat is extremely unsatisfying, doesn't look like any of the trailers, you have absolutely no control over the combat, can't cancel movement orders to your ships, even though there is a cancel movement button, they will just run straight into an enemy controlled system if they took it over after you gave the move order. No control over any of the fun stuff, just build districts and find jobs for pops, this is desk job simulator, worst game ever bought.

Krauser knife only, so awesome

Initially gave the game a bad review near release day because of bugs. Now years later after finally being able to play this at highest settings without problems I can say this is one of the most enjoyable experiences I've ever had from a video game. The story is captivating, hunting and finding weaknesses in enemies feel very natural and fluid. Combat didn't get old when pacing myself between quests. This is a true open world experience with no loading screens between areas and never broke the immersion.

Game doesn't work properly on Windows 7. Tried using Reshade to force it to work for Singleplayer but Multiplayer crashes 100% of the time due to Easy Anti Cheat. Not upgrading to Windows 10 for this game. Requesting Refund.

Almost no one playing

Bought this and found out multiplayer servers are offline. Asked Steam for refund.
