The Polynomial is a simple 3d space shooter at its core. The colours, details, and structure of the space is generated by the beat or melody (or both if you choose) of either the default or your own songs. Inside the space are ally creatures that help you shoot down the enemy creatures that look like pacman. Also inside the space are wormholes that shift dimensions that change how your song influences the space. (You can change this in the options as well.) It's kinda fun, but there isn't a lot of depth to the game, and getting changed to the relativistic dimension sucks since there isn't a wormhole out of it.

Like its predecessor, Gravity Bone, this too throws you through a quick full story. It's quite amazing actually. It also has gravity bone in it and a commentary mode too, so if you liked the first game you get a little bit extra with it now.

After playing a lot of this game, I've come to like it a lot. If you see it on sale for under $7.50, or around there I'd reccomend getting it, but at $20 now, that's just ridiculous.

The beggining of the game is very (read: VERY) slow and drawn out. You'll find yourself mass producing units for half an hour. Which means you sit in your seat for 30 minutes. Fun, right?

It does get harder, and more entertaining later on which is good, but the game doesn't have any multiplayer. The game developer also stated that he would never add any multiplayer support, so there's no chance to bombard your friend's meteors, unfortunetly.

Though, the game is easy to pickup and play, the music is soothing, it can be controlled completely by the mouse, and the AI does get pretty challenging. 8/10
