Don't buy this game. It's beautiful, has some really engaging mechanics, has fun random events and side quests. But interspersed and overlaid throughout the whole game are NUMEROUS experience-ruining and immersion-breaking sources of frustration.

Just the ones that immediately come to mind:
- Quest progression resets if you quit the game. An hour into a quest and you have to log off? Too bad, the next time you open up the game you'll have to restart it from the beginning. Sucks to suck!
- The core gameplay is S L O W. Sail from one place to another, carry items back and forth (you can only carry one item at a time, and you Can't Run While Carrying Items), make tiny adjustments to the direction of your ship and the angle of your sail. And this is the majority of the gameplay.
- The other major part of the gameplay is the puzzles. Ohhhhh, the puzzles. These stupid puzzles are terse and dense. There are tons of red herrings and even the legitimate clues are very difficult to decipher. Remember my gripe about the gameplay being slow? If you misunderstand a clue and sail to the wrong island, the right island might be half the map away, perhaps a 10 minute sail. Maybe I'm just bad at puzzles, but I've had to look up solutions to at least part of every single quest I've done.
- If you crash or get shot, your ship springs leaks. Sometimes those leaks are in very hard to find places. If you don't patch up all of the leaks, your ship will keep taking on water. There's no indication how many, if any, leaks your ship still has.
- Cooking food is an exercise in patience and memory. The color difference between uncooked and cooked food is imperceptible, to my eye. But wait too long and the food catches on fire. Then, your whole ship catches on fire! And you have to run around finding water, a bucket, and the fire. All while possibly managing steering your ship.
- Most of the mechanics are not explained at any point in the game. Maybe this is a plus for some people, but for me I want obscure mechanics to be either less obscure or told to me outright.

Don't buy this game.

Caveat: I've only ever played 2-players. Maybe the gameplay is better with 4-players.
