Definitely wait a few months on this one.

Game kinda runs like ass on a 3070ti, 58 fps average on medium settings with a small city. Currently no way to disable weather effects and a general lack of polish. Instead of watching buildings slowly form from scaffolding, you get a tower crane that sits there for 5 minutes and then a building just pops into existence with no animation, houses upgrading has no animation at all, swaps the model instantly. Cims seem to mostly just sit at their homes doing nothing and the cars that are generated don't seem to have any relation to them meaning that once the bulk of new people have moved in there's not much traffic in those areas.

This game needed at least another 6 months to iron everything out, If I can barely run it at 60fps on my rig, I feel bad for people who bought it for mid-low tier PC's. As the game currently stands, negative review from me until they do some more optimisation and quality passes.

So I went into this game thinking it would be a bit of a meme, something fun to waste some time in. I mean, you play as a wolf that can possess other animals right? how could it not be? Well I was not expecting the rich soundtrack and story to get the emotional response it did from me. The world was beautiful, the colours are very vibrant and it's full of lots of details for the completionists. While the story took a bit to get going, once it did I felt very invested in the characters. I would put this game on a pedestal next to Abzu and Journey.

Much like the aforementioned games it is not a long game by any means so wait for a sale imo.

There's Doodles in this game.

I'll be honest, this game has a lot of ups and downs. As someone who likes to explore, this game certainly satisfys that urge however since your character is made of paper mache I often found myself just wanting to complete levels as exploring seldom rewards you oustide of a few collectibles.

The level design in this game in terms of artstyle is outstanding, especially as you get closer towards the end of the game. However it is not always clear where you are supposed to go and what you're supposed to do. I guess that's why they implemented a key you can press that spawns a little purple wisp for you to follow, which I might add you cannot use while possessing a demon.

This brings me onto the next point, Possessing a demon, while really cool initially, you find out that killing other people that you can essentially use as extra lives is not ideal and thus you avoid doing that. This kinda kills the fun of being a demon, that and the annoying ass filter that is put on your screen for the duration of that demons life. It is also not very clear how long you can possess that demon for. For instance, I possessed a demon in chapter 3, walked away from the area that I possessed him in and found myself stuck as a demon. Sounds cool, really isn't as you cannot interact with anything outside of killing stuff. (I had to restart the checkpoint)

I've noticed that a lot of people have been complaining about the graphics of the game and to be honest I have no idea why. I ran the game with every setting maxed out and found that it was quite beautiful in a macabre sort of way. The only hiccup I had was in chapter 2 my FPS kept getting locked to 30. A simple workaround I found was to Enable/disable vsync, which fixed it each time it locked. The only reason that I think people might complain about the graphics is that the game is dark, like really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dark in some areas. How do you get around this? Pick up a torch!

All in all, hold off on getting this game for now. Let them do some fixes/balancing. There is a lot of content to be enjoyed from this game so it is certainly worth $30 in my honest opinion.

As someone who has this as their most played game, it's fair enough to say that my review will be very bias.

That being said, for a game to hold my attention for nearly 3k hours, it must have some replayability no? See gmod is unique in that there are thousands of different gamemodes with populated servers all running at the same time, some of which are actually better than most standalone games. Feeling like a laugh with your buddies? create a private TTT server where you can lose countles hours to (of which many youtubers have done). Feeling a little adventurous? Head on down to a furry RP server and get your A**hole raided in a corner... probably. Then migrate to a cinema server to flush away the nasty images with some memes.

Jokes aside, I highly recommend this game to anyone looking for a fun multiplayer experience.
