I've been playing this game on and off since near-release. Since the developers have gone independent recently, there has been a huge revival in the player base that really excites me for the upcoming patches. Like all good games that don't bore you after half an hour of play time, there is a learning curve; but it's not huge and if you like the idea of a combined arms mass multiplayer game that frankly does not exist anywhere else, this is the game for you.

Plus it's free to play (and not pay to win), so you won't be wasting your money unless you fall in love with it and support the developers like I have.
