Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance would be a 9/10 if the game wasn't bound to a single core, resulting in exceptionally low frame rates. I'm talking 45 fps on a good mission, 19 fps during heavy combat.

This is on a machine equipped with a 12900k & RTX4800. From what I've read, this matchs experience of others. I don't know what Slitherine can do to remedy this but if performance was addressed in any way, I could see myself sinking many many more hours into this game.

Due to the recent scandal regarding required linking with PSN, I can no longer recommend this game despite how great it really is. Sony is not a safe place for your data. I hope a resolution can be reached.

esports are silly but this game is great

I waited for updates and coming back to the game has given me a renewed perspective. It really is gorgeous. Immersive. Worldly. The story telling remains a weak point, but Bethesda did a wonderful job designing and decorating this world.

Buggy, uninspiring, and boring are words I would use to describe this game. There are a lot of features built in like the ship builder that are fun to play around with, but the sandbox is limiting and PC performance is so poor that it really isn't a highlight. I saved my final thoughts for after completing the 'main objectives' to see how the conclusion unfolds and I was left dumbstruck with how doggedly underwhelming it ended up being.

Right out of the gate, this game suffers from severe performance issues. It required the community of modders to come together to implement DLSS support which makes this game playable at 1440p (albeit at 60 fps), and this is on current generation hardware. When modders do the job that Bethesda should have on release, you know that something is wrong.

It is frustrating considering the asking price for this game and the hype train around it. One can only hope that this game receives the same treatment as Cyberpunk 2077 in future patches, turning it into the experience we were promised rather than the disappointing reality we received.

Wait for a sale or play it on game pass if you really want to experience Starfield.

Game has super-mega-penultimate potential. In a great state as it is right now and worth the buy.

My only gripe is its lack of decent ultrawide support, badly need more FOV for 21:9 and 32:9.
