The most fun I've had with a platformer since Banjo-Kazooie.

There are coffee pirates.

Take my love, take my land,
Take me where I cannot stand.
I don't care, I'm still free,
You can't take the sky from me.
Take me out to the black,
Tell them I ain't coming back.
Burn the land and boil the sea,
You can't take the sky from me.

This game is hard.

Past the weapon steal and boss system, the true spirit of Mega Man passed on is the "learn-this-pattern-or-die" gameplay. It feels right. If you lose, it's your own dang fault, not the game's.

And that's why I love it.

It's no Mega Man 2, but it certainly has the spirit of that series. I suspect that there's been a snowball of hate because of the awkwardness of the cutscenes and the brutal difficulty.

This game is not for you if you weren't part of the NES era, or can't put up with that level of difficulty. But for me, it's a gem. Give it a chance.

P.S.- Turn on the Retro music in the settings and use the Japanese voice acting. IT'S THE RIGHT THING TO DO. : )
