If you like Gunfire Reborn, which I love the game, you will definitely love this game. It plays a big differently than Gunfire as it's a lot more fast paced, more akin to Doom 2016 style of combat. Tons of weapons to play around with, 4 different characters to play as and quite a lot of randomness on the weapons to make builds easy to do.

After 20 long years in development, hopefully it will have been worth the wait.

This is by far one of my most favorite games of the year. It's like an old school shoot-em up, like Contra, pushed to 11.

There are currently 10 classes in the game, each with a different skillset, so you should find one you are comfortable with. The classes range from a sniper who can one-shot bosses under the right circumstances, a riot officer who can plant his shield on the ground to absorb all damage from the front but renders him immobile and an engineer who can plant turrets and mines. You unlock each class by doing various objectives like beating the game or doing a mini event.

Each class has four different abilities. You start out with the Commando who is very very good and is one of the best in my opinion (but I like the Huntress more). His primary damaging ability (spammable) is dual shot which fires two shots for damage, a railgun like ability that fires a straight shot piercing all enemies, a dodge roll that gives you invulnerability frames, and an ability that can fire in both directions for quite a bit of damage. The overall combat in the game is very satisfying and if you die you know it was your fault and not the games. The game also has native 360 pad support, which is what I use to play, not so sure on the ds3 pad support though.

There is a selection of active items you can pick up that can do some pretty cool things like summon some backup drones or summon a shadow clone to mimic your abilities. There are also many passive items you can get that give you various bonuses like enemies drop meat cubes on death that heal you when you pick them up, every 4th basic attack will pierce and summon bolts after you kill an enemy that will seek out others and damage them.

The difficulty in the game can range from easy to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this is the worst thing in the world, it really all depends on the items you get in the game. You can get some insane items on the first stage that can carry you through the rest of the game, like Infusion which grants maximum health on each kill or 56 Leaf Clover which makes farming much easier as it makes elite mobs, ones that have a white border around their health bar, have a chance to drop items.

The level variety is really nice as they include a snowy levels, lava levels, underwater levels (no drowning involved!), and a space ship. There is also a hidden level in the game, can you find it without looking it up? The levels in the game are procedurally generated meaning that there will never be a chest inside a wall or the teleporter to exit each stage isn't inaccessible.

The soundtrack in the game is just amazing, that's all I can say. Go listen to it for yourself! My favorite track is http://youtu.be/iSnOWqTPUNQ. If you want throw your money at Chris Christodoulou for this amazing soundtrack at http://chrischristodoulou.bandcamp.com/album/risk-of-rain.

My closing words are BUY THIS GAME you will not be disappointed one bit.http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2012/199/d/0/shut_up_and_take_my_money_by_lolikips-d34yx16.png
