This is the secret Bungie credits terminal. Sorry Doom 3 fans, Marathon 1 did it first (again). And this was in 1994 too.

Even the walls are made of lava. This isn't Rise of the Triad though: lava walls do not hurt you in Marathon.

This takes the term "hot tub Jacuzzi" to a whole new level.

This game can do rooms over rooms and 5D space by overlapping polygons. Marathon predates Duke Nukem 3D by 2 years.

It's presumably mis-spelled "groin sword" because this level's difficulty is a d.ick move.

Doom could never do tides and flows with its s.hitty hotplates back in the day. Shame the liquids in Marathon 2 onward didn't recreate them

And what they say here is a lesson they never learned, particularly in Halo 2 with its needlessly obtuse skulls and easter egg hunting..

The left lava hotplate polygon is flowing to the right and the right one is bobbing up and down in a lovely tide. I like all these effects.

Because when the crashing juggernauts hit the ground, THIS happens. Don't be next to them when they blow. You can also hide behind cover.

If you see a tank falling out of the sky while a reverse alarm goes off, run away very fast.

Behold! The Juggernaut tanks, also known as the "Big Floaty Thing What Kicks Our Asses". These are the only vehicles you fight in the game.
