I really wish I could recommend this game. I like the comics, and the story in this video game adaption was faithful to the originals and excellent right to the end.

It's a real shame that they managed to mess up the technical side of things. The team really should have had more programmers and time – this should not be considered ready for release. The constant bugs, stuttering, slow walking pace and QTE mechanics break the immersion constantly and make this a bad game.

The most noticeable issue was in the scene at the Chinese restaurant. The screen went black and I had to pick choices blindly. I couldn't proceed, so I tried restarting the game and it happened again. Eventually I managed to get through the scene.

The Hall of Fame collectible card mechanic is especially annoying because you need to focus on collecting everything on the screen before the story progression takes you elsewhere. Sometimes you can see the pieces right after, but you can't interact with them as you were supposed to pick them up in a special camera position. I gave up on the cards after realizing that it's completely pointless.

I want to see more games about Blacksad, as I think it translates really well into a video game, but I would be very, very careful before buying sequels after seeing this travesty.

* The art style and music are finely crafted
* The writing is good, though the story is short
* Not sure if this is worth the full price

* The art style and music are pleasant and they do well to create an atmosphere
* The controls and mechanics are easy to grasp
* The game is incredibly short, the story is not compelling and the secrets are not interesting
* I would never pay full price for this

A fun, genuine experience with a unique visual style and positive vibes. There's very little actual game play, but there's a lot of secrets and weird stuff to discover. There aren't many games like this around.

Some feedback: There's some sprites that clip through walls, and some that have the wrong filter mode (bilinear instead of point) so they appear blurry up close. I also kept trying to jump in QT with space, but that opens the clue view.

Early Access Review
I bought BeamNG.drive with the expection of getting a great driving simulator game, but it turned out to be just an unpolished mishmash of different demos and ideas. This is more of a car crash simulation software than a game.

What I like about this game are the amount of different cars, as well as the realistic soft-body collisions. I got a few hours of fun out of that. The graphics are good, although a little dated by 2018's standards.

I was very disappointed about the driving mechanics of this game, which feel really unstable and strange. The throttle keeps jumping up and down, and the brakes keep locking, both of which make driving very difficult. This happens with both a keyboard and a controller, which work perfectly fine in other driving games.

The main menu is not available in native resolution, so it is scaled blurrily. All menus in this game are very complex, and every single menu set uses a different style, including native Windows style, Material Design, circle menus and block menus.

This game has been in development since 2012, and in early access since 2015, and is still in alpha in late 2018. I doubt it is ever going to be released, or even improved, and would not recommend getting it.

4/5

I wish the new graphics were more true to the original, but otherwise it's a good remaster. I can always switch back and forth to the old graphics. The remastered sounds and music were nice.

It's a classic, go and get it.

One of the most boring experiences in gaming since loading screens were invented.
