I have played this game for many hours, then took a few weeks long break from it, but yesterday i returned back to it and was just as thrilled as before.
I took the break, because so far every big scale open world game I own (RDR 2, Witcher 2-3, Horizon Zero Dawn, GTA ...) at one point left me a bit tired, just like this game. I am just not the type to play them through in one consecutive period.
Having said that, not every one of them had the appeal to bring me back to playing it after the break. But KC: D was very different. The moment i decided to start it up again i was super happy for the adventure to come. The magic came right back: The combat is challenging to say the least, the atmosphere is intense in it's realness, the story is okay, not too capturing to be honest, finding new gear is rewarding, riding through the country side is just beautiful, sneaking, lock picking and stealing is fun (not the best AI of all games but okay), the skills you learn by leveling up are sweet but you as a player also become better and you feel it.
Just one thing that is sooooo fricking anoying: You can't ride through small bushes. They have a collider on them, so you can't walk or ride through them. This drove me insane so many times. If they slowed you down or something, that would have been a good solution, but to run against little shrubbery and it feeels like a concrete wall, and right next to it there is another bush and your horse gets stuck between them in an awkward collision dance, and really you just wanted to cut a corner in the forest and now your cursing your a** for having forgotten this BS mechanic ...
It's a good game :)
