I got into Hero Siege last year close to its release on Steam after seeing a Twitch streamer play it. At the time it was a lot of fun and had great potential. After a few updates and the addition of 2 classes, the game reached its zenith for me. At the time it was an appropriate mix of skill, character progression, and hopefully a little rng luck. However with a little skill and some patience, you could usually win through a run even if you didnt get lucky with items.

Then the Karp of Doom expansion came out. I'm not entirely sure what the exact changes were, but i recall attempting to play a game on Normal with my lvl 70 Necromancer (who had previously been in the middle of a good Hell difficulty run which was reset by the update) and i couldnt make it to the first boss due to getting 1-2 shot by traps or the "bombs" some enimies drop. I tried to stick with it and give it another chance every couple updates, maybe try multiplayer. To this day, i havn't been able to get a successful multiplayer game started and the game feels more and more RNG luck based. Chars have been nerfed into uselessness, and most of the whole game has been "rebalanced" to a degree that i would consider it a different game entirely. I've decided to retire the game indefinately and remember the fun it used to be.

Campy Humor and non-sensical violence with strange weapons that can have downright silly effects. Not for the spr srs gamer, but a great game to have some FPS shenanigans with friends, co-op is a blast, literally. Just remember to revive your friends after you've blown them into a giant praying mantis that eats their face off.
