More then a year after release, after patch 1.5 game is not playable at all. On medium details I've constrantly getting messages that I'm out of video RAM (I have Radeon RX580 with 4GB VRAM) and game closes. I can only play on low/medium and framerate is not stable at all. Other games works fine, and before 1.5 patch I could play on medium/high with better framerate (not ideal) and without out of VRAM message. So optimisation is not progressed as I'm expecting.

And they dropped SP campaign, which I'm looking forward to. So in this state I couldn't recommend the game.

For now I can't recommend this game. Awful optimization (20-30 FPS on i7 5820k, 32GB of RAM and RX470 with graphics setting set on medium), random FPS drops, lags etc. For about 2h ingame, I've only manage to get once in the server, 3 days after the game was out and it wasn't experience like I was expecting from the gameplay clips from alpha. They should listen and release open beta before the game was out and them maybe those connection issues could be corrected before launch.

Maybe they will fix it soon(connection isssues and very bad optimization), but for now game is not worth buying.

Starfighter Origins is not a AAA game so some issues are expected. Many of issues on that existed on release day has been resolved, like crashing just after completing second mission, control system is better than on release day etc. If you like games like Wing Commander, good thing is that this game have similar feel like WC than most of the space games listed on steam.

Sometimes it can be hard like mission when you have very limited fuel, some things are still not polished enough, but still it is for me a good game and for current discount price you should get it if you are WC fan.
