I'm miffed I didn't buy this game awhile back. It'd been sitting on my wishlist for ages. I am forgoing eating and sleeping now that I purchased it.

If you are a fan of anything simulation, RTS's, farming games, etc, this has something for everyone. Of course, anyone looking at it might think it to be rudimentary after seeing the graphics. This isn't a game to wow you with high end explosions and sweeping landscapes. It manages to take it's simplistic art style and put that to the side. This game is about STORY. The random generation of worlds, characters and the scenarios that unfold is amazing. Unlike most games of cookie cutter units, Rimworld makes each member so unique you'll find yourself cursing individuals by name after a boneheaded move on their end. The first new member of my colony happened to be a pacifist. Dude literally cannot defend himself from a bunny, but is a great negotiator and an intellectual, key for researching new techs. After a few months and many raids on my base, he had a mental breakdown and started beating one of my leaders to death, while the latter was trying to sleep. He now resides in my jail, as I decide his ultimate fate. Another freak out caused a colony member to dig up the corpse of a fallen comrade and display it on the kitchen table. Two male terriers that found their way to my base "adopted" us, then proceeded to have babies together. Perhaps the future is a very interesting place...
By all means, give the game a whirl, *especially* if you can grab it on sale.
