Friend, when I click to open the game, it runs and it appears that the game is playing and 5 seconds later it stops. What I need to do? I have windows 10 Pro, and I want to play the game for 1 year because I've had it since 2017

Welp, a friend of mine (thank you Layer!) gifted me TRON: Identity, so I'll be checking it out soon.

@Soap I hate to do it, because by all accounts TRON: Identity looks to be a well-crafted game, even if it's a bit on the short side. It's not Bithell Games' fault that what (at least the games division of) Disney did with the PC version of TRON Evolution is appalling: allowing the DRM to lapse, and not lifting a finger to update the game, in almost four years (by this point in time). Disney has a version of the game executable without the SecuROM DRM, they could have released it, but they're too lazy/cheap to do so and now many owners of the game can no longer easily play the copy they bought. So I'm simply not buying TRON: Identity right now at full price on principle, due to Disney's past behavior. I will pick it up eventually, though.

With more Tron games I hope that open world rumor wasn't just a rumor

@Soap I'll definitely be picking up TRON: Identity at some point, but probably when it goes on sale. Reviews state the game is very short, and there was an announcement that Bithell Games will be making more TRON games, which I assume will be follow-ups to Identity that continue its brief story. I'm also hoping there will be a voice acting DLC if there's enough demand for that and the game sells well enough. And, in a way, I don't want to reward Disney for what they did to TRON Evolution on Steam by buying another TRON game right away at full price, at launch.

What's your opinion on Identity? Will you be trying it?

@Sir Limbo Sorry, I didn't see your question about User Error until now! UE3 will finish the story set up in 1 and 2. But it won't be released for some time yet, so I wouldn't wait. And I'll check out your videos soon.

The activation/unlock pages for TRON Evolution on the SecuROM site are just about useless now. P4R4D0X has a way of activating the game without those, and without needing to download any cracks or anything, either.

@Старый I bought TRON Evolution when it was still being sold on Steam. Now, the best way to get the game legally is to buy a physical DVD copy if you can still find one. Or buy the Disney Games Other Worldly Adventure Pack when it's on sale, at a key seller like Fanatical.

Hey, there. I'm a long time fan of Tron 2.0. I played it through several difficulties when it first came out and loved the light cycle races. Bought it here after seeing it and a bit of nostalgia, getting reacquainted has been fun. I would love to play it with the Killer App Mod installed but having some difficulty. I've followed all instructions to the letter, install game and run it at least once. I install the unofficial full patch and then try installing the mod and I get to the end of the install and it becomes unresponsive. I've even restarted after each step but can't seem to get passed this.any help would be appreciated.

@Mercenary2115 Hmm, okay, that means you're trying to install the disc version of the game. The Steam version removed the date check.

I would temporarily set the date on your computer to December 8, 2010 and try installing the game again. If it installs successfully, you can then change it back to the correct date.

@Mercenary2115 I think you asked me this question before on Facebook. As far as I know, the situation hasn't changed. If you have TRON Evolution installed and working, a legitimate GFWL Serial/CD-Key will let you play Multiplayer which also then still works. Without a legit GFWL key I don't believe there's any way to play Multiplayer, and you are stuck playing Single Player only.

You can play against bots in Multiplayer. The game will automatically substitute missing players with bots. But this only happens on maps that don't allow Light Cycles. If a map permits the use of Light Cycles, there will be no bots.

Tell me, is it possible to play Tron Evolution in multiplayer now? With bots

hey I really need help and would greatly appreciate it, I am in the installer for the killer app mod and it crashes right at the very end and the game cannot be started at all.

@bigboss Thanks for letting me know that link was broken. Microsoft has been removing some older downloads from their site. I updated the guide to add new download links that work, for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. (In Windows 10 you can download Windows Media Audio in the Settings app.)

No sound in TRON 2.0 could be caused by a number of things, but try Windows Media Audio (aka Media Feature Pack) first and see if installing it helps.

I see the glitching appear on later levels as well after speedrunning the Gold Cheat. It's less of a problem and more of an annoyance, and that's only when the icons for the subroutines go invisible and I can't tell which one is which.

@WildCharger Basically, it boils down to the fact that earlier levels have less free slots in the subroutine ring. You're not supposed to have all the subroutines right off the bat: the game isn't expecting this (since you're cheating). So the UI occasionally glitches. Leaving the subroutine screen, and immediately going back, often clears it up.

The way to fix this would likely be to add more free slots, on the earlier levels. But I don't want to do that. It would mean being able to equip more subroutines on early levels, and dramatically alter the gameplay in the process.

Question: What are the technicalities behind the Gold Cheat that cause the subroutine UI to occasionally glitch out?

@Sir I have something in mind for v1.2 that might prevent the need to change the polling rate, while helping with mouse sensitivity/responsiveness, yes.

Will the Killer App 1.2 update have a fix for mouse look? I honestly don't want to change my polling rate just to play this game.
