Really fantastic atmosphere and pacing.

I had played System Shock 2 many years ago and loved it, so it was great to play this great remake of the first one. Immersive sims are kind of a lost art, combining action with puzzle-solving with Metroidvania-style exploration. System Shock here is a great, especially the tense, horror feel throughout, with relief after you've cleared an area and are able to walk around freely. Fantastic game.

When the game's marketing advertises it as a painful, frustrating, unfun experience, you should believe it.
